Justin Fargas not a Nighthawk, yet

We received earlier today a link claiming that the UFL’s official site lists several former NFL players and/or free agents as members of the Omaha Nighthawks.

The list includes running back Justin Fargas, cornerback Fred Smoot, quarterback Patrick Ramsey, running back LaMont Jordan, and quarterback Brian St. Pierre.

The story has since been revised to explain that the names have been removed from the Nighthawks’ roster.

We’ve confirmed via our UFL sources (yeah, we have them) that none of the players have signed deals with the Nighthawks.  Instead, they appear for now only on the team’s protected list.  (Jordan no longer does; he previously was on the list.)

So some of the players eventually could become Nighthawks.  For now, they’re not.

    I can not wait for the Merg….. Some of those teams can easily beat the Tampa Bay Bucs. …. Don’t Laugh. People thought the same thing about the AFL back in the Sixties.

    That guy Fargas was great in Starsky and Hutch!!! Huggy Bear is a kick ass pimp!!!
    I also liked the gay guy he played in Car Wash…what a riot!

    Justin Fargas is obviously being black-balledout of the NFL for some reason. Im pretty sure its because he has an AK-47 tatoo on his arm.
