Your posts are refreshing for the most part you avoid the crap we come to expect from many of the Viking fans. Kudos to the Viking success of last year. Let's see what happens this coming season. Should be another good one with both teams being forecast to go deep into the playoffs....I do hope for some revenge regardless of who your quarterback is.
Per(ert) could take a lesson from you!

You said, "@ Vikings Princess
So why do the Viking titles the last 2 years mean more that the Packer titles between 2002, 2003 and 2004 and 2007. Every one of them is in the past and means absolutely nothing. There are far more pertinent variables that will effect a teams season that their most recent records.
As far as a fan is concerned if you are happy with a visit to the NFCCG than more power to you."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The last 2 years are far more relevant from a predictive standpoint than 2002, 2003, 2004 & 2007. A lot has changed for the Packers since that time period, not the least of which is that your former QB is now my current QB. For 2010, the Vikings are basically the same team we had last year - minus Chester Taylor (which I'm still pissed off about).
As far as records go - I only care about this season - and I'm expecting a good one based on the fact that this team already has a season working together. So yes - we have a concensus on this point.
Regarding the NFCCG - yes, that was a painful loss. I still cannot watch a highlight video of it even though there were many times the Vikings played brilliantly.
I don't blame Brett because there were so many other mistakes that were equally as critical. I know he's a favorite target for Packer fans because of the INT, but putting the loss on his shoulders isn't accurate. I hold the team & the coach accountable as a unit.
That being said, 2009 was by far my favorite year of football since I was a child in the 70's. I looked forward to every game. I could not wait for game time. The games were exciting. We made the play-offs, had a bye during Wild Card week and kicked the crap out of the Cowboys and made Keith Brooking cry like a baby. What's not to like about that?
Trying to compare Favre and Cutler's first years with their new teams is like comparing fillet mignon with ground chuck. But if you want to do so consider the fact that Favre did not have to learn a new offense and was playing in the romper room dome. He arguably also had a great deal more talent surrounding him.
So can you agree with me last years records mean nothing going forward. Let's see how the games play out before we crown a division much less a superbowl champion!
Hutch dropped off last year, and may get cut this year. Favre got a taste of his future last year vs. NO. He is going to get his tail kicked this year.....no way he lasts the year.
Aside from saying 'year' 5x in this paragraph, nothing else you say is relevant. Hutchinson - who is the best interior lineman in the game - will not get cut this year, his performance fell last season sure, but he'd still be miles ahead of any OL on the Packer's roster, and his fall was due to shoulder injuries and he's had that taken care of this offseason. Secondly, while I do think McKinnie is overrated, he's still far superior to Clifton. And if Favre's future is coming back (to play football) after being, for lack of a better term, manhandled, then I think we'll be OK.
You said, "Recent history? What does 27 years of playoff drought have to do with recent history? Why refer to that when anything else including previous championships is irrelevant...but hey, rely on anything that gives your ptifull franchise relevance Recent history says that niether the Pack nor the Vikes made it to the Superbowl last year...so they both failed."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I merely brought up the 27 years sans playoff appearance for the Packers because I was discussing the Packer fans' inability to remember it when they're shouting about what a tremendous legacy the team has. The fact is there wasn't anything going on in GB for 3 decades. I don't care about it at all. The part that is relevant is that the Packers haven't won the division in the last 2 years.
There are varying degrees of failure. I'd say making it to the NFC Championship game with a QB who joined late in the preseason and was in his first year with the organization is a pretty successful run, no matter how you cut it.
Look at Jay Cutler & his first year at Chicago. His first year in Chicago vs. Brett's first year in MN.... those are two completely different levels of success.

See - this is the difference between Viking fans and Packer fans. Viking fans concentrate on recent & relevant history that has a chance of predicting future performance.

If bottle openers, finger-cuffs, pocket dictionaries and bibs can be considered "an arsenal of weapons", then I totally agree with your point.
-------------------- -------------------- -
Huh?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Let me help.
You were insinuating that the Packers were "chock full" of weapons. My response breaks down as follows:
1) It's sarcasm to indicate that I don't believe the Pack has as many "weapons" as you think they do.
2) Bottle openers are for all the beer the Packer fans drink - but maybe that confused you, because I did kinda mess up there... Packer fans drink their beer from plastic cups & cans. No bottle-openers needed.
3) The term "Finger-cuffs" was a reference to the movie Chasing Amy. You'll have to look that one up yourself and imagine AR in the Joey Lauren Adams role.
4) Pocket dictionaries are what Packer fans need to carry when the Vikings and their fans come to town so that they (the Packer fans) might be able to comprehend the multisyllabic words used by the Minnesotans.
5) Bibs are for catching sauces and other things that might fall from the mouths of Packer fans during the game as they wail in frustration when Jared Allen sacks AR for a 4th time.
None of those "weapons" are an actual football player on the Packer team. Hopefully this helps.
I think all of the puff pieces on Rodgers this week are sickening.  He has great potential, but so far he only has great stats.  He is entering his 6th year in the NFL and will be 27 later this year.  If he were a third year player, I would be more impressed.  The writers need to pump up someone in case Favre really retires.    His record in GB is only 17-15 and 0-1, so I would not him in the Hall yet.  The Pack are up the creek if he is injured, however.
Vikings- 24 players drafted.
9 are starters, 3 players in pro bowl.
2 ROY's. 17 still with team.
Packers- 40 players drafted.
9-10 are starters, 2 players in pro bowl.
0 ROY's. 28 still with team. (Correct me if Im wrong, unlike Bob & Jimmy, I am not obsessed with my div. rival.)
Now, I believe we should also count J.Allen. Since Vikes gave up a couple picks for him. That pushes us way up on yall. "
-"Who is better prepared for the future?"
The team without a 40 year old Qb.
Don't forget to mention the Packers found a franchise QB in the draft, something the queens have failed to do.
Oh and if you give the vikings credit for Allen in a trade, give the Packers credit for Ryan Grant who is a damn fine RB aquired via trade.
brentfavre, I was just messin about Green Bay being too little and you do have a good fan base. But the truth is, there is no chance the Vikings are moving to LA because Ed Roski who is building the stadium there said months ago that the Vikings are not one of the teams that can go there, it has to be a smaller market team. The stadium measure will be passed next session, it'll probably be a covered stadium.
As far as the O Line, Hutch was injured last season, he's not this season, McKinney did make the Pro bowl and our C and RT just finished their 1st years. I've seen Bulaga play and like I said the other day he looks like a tackle except for basically having no arms just hands sticking out of his shoulders but maybe he'll be okay. He won't be a LT though.
new prikue, you're not even trying. If you're gonna pretend that your OL is as good as ours you'll be laughed at by every football fan in America, your line was HISTORICALLY bad last year, what did Allen got, like 8 sacks on Erin?
Our line, on the other hand, in spite of a rookie RT and 1st year starter C, blocked for the 2nd highest scoring offense in the NFL led by Brett Favre who went for 33 TDs and 7 INTs and finished 3rd in MVP voting. It's just that simple.
Your other comments were all too stupid to respond to. I get that you like Erin's stats. Talk to me if he ever wins a playoff game.
The bottom line is you guys keep losing to us and we keep winning the division. That's not gonna change this year because your team is too broke or you g.m. is too cheap to sign free agents. We have 8 Pro Bowl players and 4 All Pros, you don't even have half as many.
The only position on the Packers line that is remotely close to being old is at tackle, where Lang ( 2nd year player, RT , LG), Giacomini (3rd year, RT) and Bulaga(rookie, LT) are being groomed to take over.Mike McCarthey recently said there was a chance Giacomini could start at RT over Tauscher this season.With that said, non of these guys have proven they can play Tackle well at the NFl level.
Other than that the Packers have Sitton 3rd year guy at RG (stud), Colledge ( 5th year), Spitz ( 5th year) and  Wells ( 29). Not too much older t han the Vikings line. While the Vikings Oline is probably better at this point, I'd argue that the Vikings Oline is on the decline more than the Packers to tell the truth. Hutch certinaly isn't the player he once was and who knows about McKinney. What noteable young depth do the Vikings have to speak of?
"The problem is your town and your team are just too little"
GB may be considerable smaller than the twin cities, but their fan base is much much larger. Nationally speaking the Packers are one of the major football teams, the Vikings, on the other hand are irrelevant on a national scale when Favre's not playing there. When's the last time you saw the Packers linked to an possible LA move?
"Your statement that Rodgers is a liability is the strongest evidence that you don't have a clue. He and Drew Brees are the top QBs heading into this year. And yes Twzzl.....he has better WRs than you do. I would not be surprised if he threw for 5000 yard this year."
Sweet, make sure you draft him in fantasy football then!
If bottle openers, finger-cuffs, pocket dictionaries and bibs can be considered "an arsenal of weapons", then I totally agree with your point.
Huh?
