DeAngelo Hall, Packers assistant listed as tax delinquents

The local paper in Northampton County, Virginia has published a list of the county’s biggest delinquent taxpayers, and a couple of NFL names made the cut.

Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall is listed as owing more than $6,000 in delinquent real estate taxes, while Packers defensive backs coach Darren Perry and his wife are listed as owing more than $14,000 in real estate taxes and close to $3,000 in delinquent personal property taxes.

Neither Hall nor Perry responded when the paper tried to contact them.

The story on Hall and Perry marks the second time this week we’ve noted a story about an NFL tax delinquent; on Monday we passed along a report that former NFL receiver Koren Robinson is the third-worst tax delinquent in North Carolina.

No surprise there with a Packer coach being delinquent. That is just the type of people Ted Thompson and Mike McLardy hire. And just imagine, the Pack had a chance to get Sean Payton but TT picked McLardy instead. What a devastating mistake. Just one of many TT has made, to include plunging the Packers into financial ruin.

Wow, talk about a missed opportunity. Not one mention to the fact that they are both former Oakland Raiders. You guys must be getting soft….

Come on D, borrow it from fat al and keep your name out of the paper. We skins fans have to deal with enough and you not paying your taxes should not be one of them.

More Packers in trouble with the law. That org is just terrible. Almost makes you want to puke knowing what kind of show they are running over there. Budget roster and a bunch of cheats for coaches and drug mules for players. Not to mention they hurt Brett’s feelings and ran him out of town with 3 good season’s left as if they cared nothing for their team’s financial success or ability to win the division.
Not that Rodgers isn’t good enough to win a division but just that Brett is too good to let it happen…

There’s NO law that says you have to pay income tax, so these guys aren’t really breaking a law.
If someone disagrees or doesn’t believe me, please post the law and a link to your source.

You hav absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Green Bay is not in financial ruin. You are the same idiot that will say Thompson doesnt spend on free agency then blame him for their financial “ruin” by being frugal. I can only imagine FoF means fan o Favre. That explains some of your post. The rest can be chalked up to your lack of knowledge of business and football as well.

How is Michael David Smith doing at paying his taxes?
If this is how deep we’re going to go with digging into player’s personal business, let’s do the same to everyone even remotely associated with sports… even football website so-called writers.
    This is just getting ridiculous.

    Florio,
For once, ever, your “investigative Journalism” may actually be on to something. I mean think about it…how many NFL Coaches, Players, Execs are in debt? Perhaps a money management program should be installed by the NFL. I mean – We get guys with the intelligence level of like Jamarcus Russel getting paid 34 million dollars for his time in Oakland. Smarter people can’t manage getting 2,000 dollars a month – how can he possibly handle that money right?
And while on money related issues:
lets get that rookie salary in place.

  22. SpartaChris says: Jul 15, 2010 11:28 AM

The bigger question is did Obama’s Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner pay his back taxes yet?

Actually, SimpMcGhee, I can read… and I read a lot. Do you believe everything you see on CNN or FoxNews? Don’t be a sucker. They pretend like it’s unfathomable to think that the people in Washington are some of the the most crooked, greedy men in the world.
Why don’t you research some of the warnings heeded to us by Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and JFK.
    @Im4Liberty:
Thank you. I stand corrected on this issue, but I think you understand the truth about the income tax.

Here is VA’s law requiring state income tax:
    http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp504.exe?000+cod+58.1-320
Took me 5 minutes to find that. If i’m missing something, please enlighten me.

I can’t disagree but the article states this is Real Estate Tax. Either this guy lives in a pretty big house or he hasn’t paid his taxes in a couple years. No excuse for this guy on my end, but just another example of the a great TMZ…oh I mean PFT gossip story. More football talk please.

I find it hilarious that the only fans bashing the Packers are Viking fans. Could you be more transparent and shallow?
We’re talking about a secondary coach who owes on back taxes….Oooh, hard hitting stuff there! And of course they also mention the drug case that Jolly hasn’t even been convicted of yet….and probably won’t be.
And yet, the Vikings have two linemen who were using Starcaps to possible cover up their HGH use. Not to mention the coaching staff that has been tampering with multiple players on the Packer’s roster over the years. And let’s not forget Tice trying to scalp NFL tickets or everyone’s favorite Love Boat scandal. Or how about the time when the organization ran Randy Moss out of town….oh no that’s right, they traded Moss for complete garbage. Way to get value out of that trade!
Maybe Viking fans should spend more time thinking about why they are one of the only teams in the league that has never won a super bowl.
    Losers

  32. Big M says: Jul 15, 2010 5:25 PM

    dgress…
I apologize… I was referring to Federal Income Tax. It is the right of the states to create their own income tax systems if they wish. But that power was reserved for the states in the Bill of Rights.
I appreciate someone like you willing to do their research rather than just repeat what they’ve heard. We need more of that in this country.
Now… if you can show me a Federal Law (not a court ruling), I’d like to see it.
