The Saints have announced the signing of fourth-round pick Al Woods to a four-year rookie contract. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
Woods fared well in pre-draft workouts and was a top-20 recruit coming out of high school, but the former LSU Tiger underachieved throughout his college career. Ultimately just a one-year starter, Woods left Baton Rouge with a measly 3.5 career sacks and seven tackles for loss.
The Saints are hopeful that aggressive defensive coordinator Gregg Williams can coach up Woods’ talent as Williams has done with Anthony Hargrove and Remi Ayodele.
In training camp, Woods will compete with DeMario Pressley for snaps behind Hargrove, Ayodele, and starting “three-technique” tackle Sedrick Ellis.

Here’s a journalism tip, Silva:
Try mentioning what position the guy plays early in the post, rather than alluding to it in the final paragraph.
Sweet!
Both he and charles brown are supposed to be quite athletic for their size. Add Robinson Graham and Tennant and this might be Paytons best class yet, which is scary.
