Plenty of NFL connections to 2010 class of College Football Hall of Fame

In three weeks, the NFL’s new Hall of Fame seven-man class will be enshrined in Canton.

Tonight, a group more than three times that size will enter the College Football Hall of Fame.

The 2010 class includes many players who, not surprisingly, had an impact at the next level, including former Raiders receiver Tim Brown, former Lions and Bills linebacker Chris Spielman, former Bears defensive tackle Steve McMichael, former Saints defensive end Pat Swilling, former Seahawks running back Curt Warner, former Patriots receiver Troy Brown, former Giants linebacker Brian Kelley, and former hard-hitting, blood-on-the-nose safety (and current Titans defensive coordinator) Chuck Cecil, former Browns tight end Milt Morin (who passed away earlier this week), former Rams and Seahawks defensive end Grant Wistrom, former Jets running back Emerson Boozer, former Patriots coach Dick McPherson, and former Rams coach John Robinson.

The ceremony begins tonight at 8:15 p.m. ET, and it will stream live at the College Football Hall of Fame’s official website. Mark May and Jesse Palmer will host the 105-minute event.

Think about that. A total of 24 men will be inducted, and 105 minutes have been allotted for the process.

Meanwhile, the seven guys who’ll enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame next month will, collectively, consume likely twice that amount of time.
