Bengals waive Jason Shirley

A 2008 fifth-round pick of the Bengals, Jason Shirley has gone from defensive tackle to offensive guard to waived in just two short years.

The Bengals waived (non-football injury) Shirley on Monday, the fallout of a basketball injury suffered this offseason.  It’s believed Shirley tore his Achilles’ tendon.

Shirley will revert to the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list if he passes through waivers.

  1. I feel badly for Shirley in this case. Mikey boy decided to meddle last year in personnel issues he has no business meddling in (obviously it’s commonplace in this franchise’s history under him) and it screwed Mr. Shirley over. Guy was a man about it though, best of luck Jason.

  2. A Jags fan making fun of The Bengals criminal issues? That’s rich! Have you met the kettle?

  3. Nice English there NFLHOF. Maybe next time you’ll use the correct “you’re” and maybe throw some punctuation in there to break it up as it should. What school gave you a diploma may I ask? Or did you get your GED from a door to door salesman?
Anyway, this sucks for him big time. He was asked by the team to play in this basketball game. He gets hurt and the team was going to discipline him for it. Haven’t heard anything more about them paying him but I’d imagine if they put him on waivers then they aren’t planning on it. Heck of a guy and I wish him the best of luck!

That’s extremely original, and hilarious. But look who’s talking. You have Matt “Coke Zero” Jones on your squad…
    oh,
    dammit. Nevermind.
