Zing! Excellent. Mike Vick comment in an Jeff Samardzija update. I have to say, not even I saw this one coming.

Yes! Excellent joke. You thought to yourself “hmmm, now how can take what Florio stated and make a reference to another grown man i dont know getting raped in prison” Amazing. Well done. Because he was with the general population and probably got it right in the pooper. hahahahaahahahahaha yes! Good show pal.
Jamal Lewis looked pretty bad as well in his first season back in the league from jail. The same went for Vick. Maybe he’ll look better in his 2nd year like Jamal. We will never know unless Kolb gets hurt. Lets pray.

I always thought he made a mistake choosing baseball. I know he was a talent on the mound as well as running and catching the oblong ball, and that careers in the baseball world are typically a lot longer. However, I always guaged his chances as a pro football player as light years better then his chances to make it as a pitcher in the majors. Share the same sentiments regarding his ability as wryly1.

He definitely sucks at baseball. Luckily for him he plays for a team that is horrible at recognizing talent, thus the $10mil they signed that scrub for. Maybe he’ll find that same luck in the NFL…

Always thought Samardzija could have been an effective NFL possesion receiver type in the Joe Jurevicius mold.

Samardzija can play football (if he wants) until his late 30s. He does something which will enable him to stick as at least a 4th WR with some team… he is a good XP/FG holder.
If he can move up the WR depth chart based on his WR skills so much the better, but he’ll always have a job in football simply because he can both play a position and play an important role in the kicking game.

He may be able to do it because of the type of WR he is, a big possession guy. Plus the way the NFL has made pass defense nearly illegal, anybody can get open.
The only drill he’d have to work on is the pretend to throw a flag drill. If a DB makes a good play, just make the throw the flag motion, and the Ref is obliged to throw one.

MAJOR difference between Drew Henson and Jeff Samardzija. One of them (Henson) played the toughest position in the NFL, quarterback. Samardzija plays an easier position at reciever. Because of his size, he could come in and be a good 3rd reciever for a football team, i wouldnt mind if my favorite team took a gamble on him.

Samardzija was taking that 2 years pitching in the majors. Vick took that two years pitching in the Kansas Federal Penetentary League. Big difference

The way you speculate is enough to make another lawyer weep.
I can’t see him switching back to baseball, living in Chicago, I know the Cubs are high on him, despite his lack of ability to this point.
Also, he runs the risk that Drew Hensen ran, taking years off of football just doesn’t bode well for making it in pro football.
