Jerry Rice "scared to death" about Hall of Fame ceremony

Competing comes naturally to Jerry Rice.  But he’s “scared to death” about the upcoming Hall of Fame festivities in a few weeks, including his speech.

Rice spoke at the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship in Lake Tahoe this weekend, and said that Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan tried to convince him to come out of retirement there.  (Rodgers didn’t have any luck, but was able to play with two childhood heroes.)

We could tell you more, but then you wouldn’t watch the video below.

  1. He should be nervous. He’s almost illiterate. One of the best players ever but I’d be surprised if his IQ is over 100. I’m certain I’ll watch it, probably shed a tear or two. Hopefully he practices his speech 100 times so he doesn’t embarrass himself.

  2. well truu…
He should just say ‘thank you all very much, it’s been a wonderfil life’, accept the platitudes and award and walk off.

  3. “the hair is standing up on your back”. that line cracks me up everytime I hear it on the NFL channel.

He’s afraid they’ll present him a bust of Randy Moss
Moss will retire and be remembered as a new england patriot!
