I think Ryan Mathews deserves what Knowson Moreno got from the Broncos, both were 12th overall pick. Moreno signed a five-year, $16.7 million contract with a $5.08 million club option for 2014. Moreno rushed for 947 yards but in my own opinion Mathews is a better running back than Moreno. I think
Mathews will rush for 1,100 yards in his first year alone so he deserves at least five-year $17 million signing contract.

If Mathews knows how to sign his name, there is something he could do. Still, he was probably excited when he got picked so high and talked too much, before he realized that Norv wants to drive him like a rental car and AJ is tight with a dollar.

None of the first-round picks from this year’s draft are signed yet, so Ryan Mathews is just going along with the rest of the NFL business, both players and owners. So Krow’s comment is ignorant. Plus Mathews should ask for more money because running backs have much shorter careers than most other positions.

Can’t blame anybody who holds out against the Chargers. AJ’s opening bid was probably “you get to be on TV, what else do you need?” and eventually agreed to throw in $7/hour.

These players are such liars. “I want to be on time. Hopefully that happens. If not, there’s nothing I can do.” Uh, don’t play the powerless victim here, you dum a$$. YOU are the boss, NOT your agent. If you want to be in camp on time, all you have to do is not hold out for RIDICULOUS money that you will NEVER see here. Be fair with the Chargers and they’ll be fair with you. Start trying to play stupid games and you’ll be lucky to ever see the field for the next 24 months.

Methinks his agent pointed out that if you tell the team you’ll be in camp on time, you end up with no negotiating leverage.
Smartest thing for the kid to do would be to tell his *agent* that he’ll be in camp on time (even if it means taking the team’s best offer), but you have to be an idiot to state it publicly.
