New Orleans announced the signing of seventh-round pick Sean Canfield to a four-year contract on Monday. Aaron Wilson of NFP reported the move first earlier in the afternoon.
Canfield, from Oregon State, figures to compete with Chase Daniel for third quarterback duties in New Orleans. Look for the Saints to sign a veteran backup quarterback, probably Patrick Ramsey. (Berman voice: “FROM . . . Tulane.”)
