Vikings not interested in Pitts, Owens

Cross another unsurprising name off Terrell Owens’ wishlist.

Vikings vice president of player personnel Rick Spielman told KSTP-TV sports director Joe Schmit that the Vikings were not interested in adding T.O. to their receiver mix.  (Thanks to Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune for passing along the news.)

Slightly more surprising is Minnesota’s lack of interest in guard Chester Pitts.  The former Texans guard is working out for teams in Arizona Tuesday and Minnesota was once mentioned as one of five teams interested in Pitts.  That interest has apparently waned.

Could you tell me who else didn’t sign Owens today? How about who didn’t sign Favre? How about who didn’t trade for Mike Vick. Who didn’t trade for Haynesworth? Which owners didn’t burn down his own stadium today? Which players didn’t quit the NFL to join Cir De Soleil?
Just a question, when the Eagles signed Mike Vick after appearing on your list of teams that won’t sign that inbred hick, did you call up your source and cry and tell them they had lost all credibility?

  3. Pistol says: Jul 20, 2010 12:25 PM

Surprisingly, they are not interested in Tom Curran either.

  4. MagicMan407 says: Jul 20, 2010 12:26 PM

I wonder who is actually interested in Pitts?

  5. LBPACKFAN says: Jul 20, 2010 12:29 PM

Will Coach Pharv be ok with this? He wasn’t happy in 2007 when the Pack didn’t go after Randy Moss…

  6. Rick says: Jul 20, 2010 12:38 PM

Hey Florio how about making a running list of teams that have said they don’t want TO

The highlight of the career of Chester Pitts will be his Super Bowl commercial with Ephraim Salaam.

  9. Green n' Gold says: Jul 20, 2010 12:49 PM

That pourus O-line will get Favre’s consecutive start streak ended by week eight! No wonder why he’s taking so long, he knows what he’s in for, more punishment.

Passing on TO I get, passing on Pitts? They must know something I don’t know. They lost Hicks as their utility backup, as of now they still need a reliable vet backup on the O Line.

and the packers offensive line is what then?

  12. Omega says: Jul 20, 2010 1:09 PM

Does anyone really believe anything that these coaches or GMs say? Why would they say that they are not interested? Why would they say that they are interested? I really don’t see there could be any advantage by being truthful in these interview session.
In camp a receiver will go down. At that point there will be GM that is interested and the signing will come as a surprise? I think not.

Favre and TO, not sure state is large enough.

  15. JimmySmith says: Jul 20, 2010 1:49 PM

    Change the headline to:
Favre not interested in TO and Pitts.
We all know who is running the team and it sure the hell is chrome dome, the part time chauffer and full time clown.

The Packer O-Line is going to be just fine, and better than the Queens. They played pretty damn good the second half of last year with a health Clifton and Tauscher. You idiots like to focus on when they were both hurt. Typical moron Viking fans…….too stupid to quit drooling.

  18. ItalianStallion says: Jul 20, 2010 2:10 PM

Why would they be interested in TO, they already have 3 WRs who are better?

  19. sand0 says: Jul 20, 2010 2:27 PM

Obviously they never had interest in Owens. Vikes already have good WR’s and Childress hates TO’s guts. Pitts I thought the Vikes worked out at one time. Maybe upon further review they didn’t like him or something.

Ummmm Tausher wasn’t hurt, he was dragged from the scrap heap because your O-Line had more holes than those cheese hats you love to wear.
After the 2008 season was over, Tauscher became an unrestricted free agent. Tauscher worked out for the Kansas City Chiefs but the Packers eventually re-signed him four games into the 2009 season due to the Packers offensive line struggling to protect quarterback Aaron Rodgers.[2] He became a free agent after the season again, but re-signed with the Packers on March 14, 2010.[3]

Typical packer fan, too blind from Favre sour grapes and ’08 and ’09 division champs envy to know your own team.

    Green-n-Gold:
Just like his streak was going to be stopped in 2008, and then 2009?
Some people’s kids, I tell ya?!?!?

  22. MosesZD says: Jul 20, 2010 3:02 PM

I have to laugh at Pitts. The 49ers were hot to sign him, but he kept asking for too much and tried to play the field. Now there’s real interest in him in a rapidly drying-up market.
FA Rule #1 — Sign in the first week or be damned to languish. Teams, over the years, have gotten very gun shy and the longer you’re on the market, the harder it will be to sign…

  23. kinghill says: Jul 20, 2010 3:17 PM

To all you Vikes fans – TO refused to speak to Childress in Philly when Childress was the Offensive Coordinator. There is no way Brad wants him on the Vikes. Who needs a 36 year old cancer who drops too many balls anyway?

  24. LBPACKFAN says: Jul 20, 2010 3:34 PM

    kinghill -
Good points…and…Vikes are content with the 25 year old on the team that drops balls. No need for another.

How many times did the Packers d-line get to Favre in the season series?? And how many times did that Packers amazing o-line hold off the Vikings d-line?? You’re a mornon.

It’s spelled M-O-R-O-N…..moron. Read your post before punking someone else out, douche.
MN’s O-line will be fine. The D-backfield, the aging turd who hasn’t put 2 good seasons together back to back in over 11 years, and the phenom who drops the ball every other carry will be the issues.

I usually don’t respond to comments from idiots but Green n’ gold’s comment has to rank right up there with the dumbest ever. He and other Packer fans have been saying the same thing about BF’s consecutive streak ending ever since he left GB……they should try listening to themselves just ONCE. Secondly, what a stupid ass comment from any fan who’s QB was sacked the MOST in the NFL last year…….damn talk about dumb

  28. Green n' Gold says: Jul 20, 2010 6:44 PM

LMAO at all the Queen responses to my brilliant take. To the idiot that didn’t think Tauscher wasn’t hurt, he was!! He blew his knee out late in 2008 and would not have been cleared to play in a GAME (He could workout dumbass) until the Packers signed him. Do your research before you talk shit Idiot!!!
As for our O-line, yeah they sucked early on, but got better as we got healthy. Rodgers got sacked 50 times but still torched the league for over 4000 yards throwing only 7 picks. What would Favre’s #’s have been playing behind our line last year? That’s the real question dumbasses? I’ll tell you Queen fan, 25 TD’s and 17 picks!! He hates getting hit and will chuck it up. You’ll see this year. Your LT and the right side of your line sucked at the END of last season and will only get worse. Favre will get killed this year, going to be so fun to watch Willie Mays errrrrrrrr Brett Favre play one too many seasons.LMFAO!!

Could not have said it any better. These idiots don’t know anything. Tauscher had his ACL crushed in late 2008. The Pack O-Line looks much better this year. Look out you queer Queen pricks.

    Green and Gold/ New Fague:
So you are relying on a guy who hasn’t been able to stay healthy for the last 2 seasons(at least)?
What did this vaunted line do against the Cards in the WC game?
That’s right idiots. 5 freaking sacks!!
Green, the only thing you are brilliant at is making yourself look like a turd.
What are you going to do when the 2 old guys go down…AGAIN?!
Packers 2-5 against over .500 teams last year, there are no Rams and Browns and Bucs(oops!) games this year. 8-8 for the Pack…at best.
