The possibility of a long holdout was always exaggerated by morons like Florio. Anyone with any real understanding of the situation had no such concerns.

You are kidding right? Parker is notorious for being a pain in the ass to deal with and telling his clients to hold out. This deal got done because jones told parker ahead of time if he was going to pull that shit they simply wouldn’t draft him and his value would drop even more. Crabtree was influenced by everyone else trying to get themselves rich by riding his coat tails. That being said he is still a douchebag until proven otherwise……….. BUT he does have skills and looks to be the real deal

Crabtree was coming in as a starter and he wanted every dollar he could get.
Bryant knew he wasn’t starting and the Cowboys had the #2 ranked passing offense in the league last year without him. It’s not like they need him to grab 10 TD’s this year to make the playoffs.
Plus he knows he’s on a team where if he outplays his contract, there’s an owner who will give him a new one.

ACTUALLY, Florio, if you had actually researched the true “facts,” they would not have “pointed to a long holdout.”
Parker and the Cowboys have a very good working relationship since Parker has represented previous Cowboy 1st rounders Felix Jones, Mike Jenkins, and Anthony Spencer. Not to mention that Dez Bryant repeatedly stated in mini camp interviews that he did not want a holdout and that his goal was to be present for the first day of training camp. There’s also a video of the Cowboys’ war room on draft day before the Dez selection in which Jerry Jones and Eugene Parker are on the phone and agree to reach a deal based on the 24th slot and to avoid a Crabtree situation of last year.
You could’ve found all of this with a little bit of research on the topic. Instead you chose to sit back and speculate nonsense to generate controversy surrounding the team you hate. Don’t try to save your butt now with this “well the facts pointed to a long holdout” because they didn’t if you actually did research and KNEW what you were talking about instead of talking out of your behind.

So it all worked out well for the team, the player, and the agent.
Well, money changed hands, so that’s good. And if Bryant decided to come in on time with an eye to his next contract instead of his first one, that could be good for the Cowboys. His agent will have pocket money he can spend in his search for new customers. Works out for the agent. Bryant gets some fat in his wallet and can go after car dealer endorsements right away. It’s perfect.
