As a matter of fact – NO. Nobody owns me. I was a 19 year union member, and was in management for 11. I’ve seen it from both sides.

I’m all for it, then work with the drug companies to make HGH more affordable for the people that need it… I’ve done enough research and if I could get a physician to sign off on it and my insurance would pay for the prescription, I’d take it (in the doctor’s recommended doses) in a heartbeat.

Seems like the best way to apply pressure on the union is to call Rep. Waxman D-CA and get him to start harping on the issue from a federal standpoint. Congress hasn’t made a stink about drugs for a couple of years – time for them to use the bully pulpit to get the NFLPA to cooperate.

I don’t know why you would make something against the rules, and yet not be able to test for it…doesn’t make sense.

The problem is that newer and more undetectable drugs are being created every day. The testers don’t know what to test for.
BALCO would still be going strong if people could have kept their egos in check and their mouths shut.
USADA didn’t even know what some of the designer drugs were before the users got ratted out.

umm…it’s called collective bargaining. It’s the only move the NFLPA can make.
If ownership wants something, the players have to make them give something up to get it, even if they do agree. They can’t give it up for free.
2 things ownership wants changed are HGH testing and a rookie wage scale. Most players probably wants those too, but they can’t just give them away. They need to make sure ownership makes some concessions too. Otherwise, they’ll get screwed in the negotiations.

If the league resists to this they will be seen as trying to hide/cover up the use of PEDs. I’m sure the league knows this and will exploit every opportunity to get the public to favor them in anything.
Bad move by the NFLPA.
