Ravens sell out the season, quickly

At a time when the NFL is fretting about fans choosing to stay home and watch the game on TV, the Ravens won’t be experiencing that dynamic in 2010.

Single-game tickets went on sale this morning, and they’re all gone for each regular-season game.  Fewer than 1,000 remain for the team’s two preseason contests.

Now, if only the franchise would have similar fortune in their dealings with Ed Reed.

Hope they’ve read the refund policy….

I really wish, the NFL and or teams front office would post how much corporations buy up in tickets. And no, I’m not saying this “in” this case lol. Just wonder though, how much they buy before the season starts.

Reed’s absence may very well cost the Ravens the SB

  4. Joe Flacco says: Jul 23, 2010 11:55 AM

Of course. One of the best fan bases’ in the league.

  5. Flaccodelic says: Jul 23, 2010 12:00 PM

Hopefully Paul “Build a Museum” Tagliabue is taking notice.

    America’s team…THE RAVENS.
With the MOST LOYAL FAN BASE in the NFL.
Raven Nation doesn’t have to BEG for fans to buy tickest like the Browns who have to resort to “Pick A Seat Day” or the JESTS who still can’t unload their PSLs for their rotten team that sucks from top to bottom.
Even Burning River and Brian Sipe were in line all night to purchase the remaining tickest that were available to the public. All the tickets sold out in ten minutes.
The Art Modell legacy of greatness and fabulous owner will endure forever in the hearts of all NFL fans across America.

Boy that was a brilliant decision to put that expansion franchise in Jacksonville, wasn’t it Paul Tagliabue? Our ‘museum’ seems to be doing quite well, thank you! A 15th straight season of sellouts. Not bad.

The Black and Gold only show up when times are good. I go to every Ravens-Steelers game at M&T and that is a cold hard fact. There are nothing but bandwagon Pitt fans in B-More.
As for this article, the Ravens sell out their home games EVERY year. We appreciate our team and are glad to have football in Baltimore.

  28. nflisking says: Jul 23, 2010 1:13 PM

    @funi
You obviously don’t know much about team sports, do you?
1 player by themselves can never win a SB but Reed can plug the Ravens 1 weakness – secondary. They then become SB contenders.
Just ask the steelers about their safety position last year

  29. TheToolofTools says: Jul 23, 2010 1:19 PM

You have to have someone die and leave tickets to you in Steelersburgh.
Nations most loyal fans…. last I looked the Steelers have the biggest jewelry box in the NFL.

  30. ccielewich says: Jul 23, 2010 1:30 PM

The Baltimore Orioles sold games out in 1996 too. B-more will B-less once the team doesn’t have Playoff expectations. Turn on an O’s game this season to see how loyal the fan base is in Baltimore. Just win baby!
The most Loyal fan base is the town that still fills seats in the stadium for their team after ten losing seasons (Bills, Browns, Raiders, Lions). Anyone still supporting those franchises are by far more loyal than the dirty birds of baltimore.

  31. phuckphilly says: Jul 23, 2010 1:44 PM

Joe Flacco and ravenmuscle and other idiots,
Best fan base? Raven Nation? Really? You can’t be serious. Perhaps in the Baltimore area. Ummm…Last time I checked, there is a Pittsburgh Steelers bar in every city. Every city. Do you understand that Ravens’ fans? I would never wear my teams’ jersey to a Ravens’ game because I’d be afraid to get shot or stabbed.

  32. HandsofSweed says: Jul 23, 2010 1:54 PM

Steeler fans have bought every ticket to every game since 1972. Pittsburgh has a sellout streak that is 24 years older than THE ENTIRE 15-year EXISTENCE OF THE BALTIMORE RAVENS.
To put it another way: The Steelers 39-year streak of sellouts is over 2.5 times longer than the entire written history of The Ravens. We can fold up the Ravens history at least twice and it will still fit very easily inside of just the current Steeler sellout streak.
It would fit really easily into a Packer sellout streak, many times over, as well.

  33. sacdaddy says: Jul 23, 2010 1:55 PM

Phuckphilly, correct you will get beat the phuck down if you wear that sh*t to one of our games.. so stay the phuck out of Baltimore.

  34. tonyinmd says: Jul 23, 2010 1:57 PM

The Ravens have sold out every game in their history…including 8 non playoff seasons and seven .500 and sub .500 seasons.
Far from fairweather when it comes to the Ravens.
And as for the examples of the Bills/Browns/Raiders/Lions…each of those teams have had blackouts or been extremely close to having blackouts last year so it’s not like they are selling out every game.

I love it when Crackimore idiots like penismuscle talk about the loyal fan base and like so many here made it clear-the Orioles have more empty than full seats, they couldn’t even keep their original NFL team and their NBA (yes they actually had an NBA team the Baltimore Bullets) relocated because of lack of support. Dude, your town is 1 out of 3 for keeping teams.

  37. moosev says: Jul 23, 2010 2:05 PM

Big deal. The fans can see they have a legit shot at a Super Bowl so they’re wasting their hard earned money on season tickets instead of the usual beer and lottery tickets. A cheaper way to go would be to simply recline and hit the red power button on your remote. It’s safe, cheap, easy and you can’t get throw in jail for throwing a hot dog at a referee.
Hmm! That brings back a bad memory!

  38. moosev says: Jul 23, 2010 2:08 PM

Sellout streaks through the end of the 2009 regular season:

    3. Denver Broncos … 301
    4. San Franciso 49ers … 267
    5. New York Giants … 264

You’re an idiot. Baltimore fans definitely start some ignorant shit from time to time, but there’s absolutely nothing to fear wearing your team’s colors to M&T. Great stadium, (mostly) great fans (win, OR lose), solid team year in and year out.

The hate that goes on at these games though is ridiculous… I have seen too much stupidity to last a life time. If throwing full beer cans at opposing fans, and dropping the f-bomb with kids around is support… then keep your “Ravens Nation” to yourself… NO ONE wants to hear or experience it…

  48. longestlegs says: Jul 23, 2010 2:51 PM

I also don’t understand why these dudes are comparing the Steelers’ streak of sold out seasons to a teams thats been around for 15 years. Its…not possible for it to be longer than that! Therefore the comparison is null.
If the Colts had stayed in Baltimore their streak would far surpass the Steelers.

A. who cares about baseball these days, especially the orioles with angelos, lets make it 0-3 and get rid of them and hope another owner like modell who cares about his team (suck it Browns fans) can bring a team to baltimore that cares. the colts left because of an alcoholic owner. i really dont want to say more but if you need to know more just watch the 30@30 on espn about it. Hey chasravens, or should I say Ravensmuscle. Thank you for your post-you just proved everyone’s point here about Baltimore. You loved the O’s when they were winning – but now that they are losing, you could care less if they left. You are the typical Baltimore front running fan. You know why Modell sold out to your town-he was broke from being such a poor businessman and the NFL as a whole though so poorly of your town, they would not award it another team (aka-the Browns) Please go back to your spaghetti-Os

Had to beat the Raiders to even make the playoffs last year.BEAT A DOMINANT TEAM FOR A CHANCE.But look on the bright side,at least you don’t play the original BALTIMORE team this year.Let’s see the special teams head coach pull a rabbit out his ass this year.7-9 7-9 7-9.

  76. CharmCityRavens says: Jul 27, 2010 2:43 AM

Baltimore has, is, and will always be fanatic about their football. I seem to recall a recent Vince Vaughn comedy that included the classic line “crabcakes and football that’s what Maryland does”. Going back in cinema you have the classic film “Diner” in which one character gives his bride-to-be a Colts trivia test before marrying her.
So the haters can continue to hate. I’m proud to be from Baltimore and I’m a full-fledged Ravens fan till the day I die. There’s only one city that I know of that has won:
    -NFL Championships (Baltimore Colts ’58, ’59, ’68)
    -USFL Championship (Baltimore Stars ’85)
    -CFL Championship (Baltimore Stallions ’95)
-NFL Super Bowls (Colts ’71 & Ravens ’00)
    -AIFA championship (Baltimore Mariners 7/25/10)
Proving that if you put ANY type of professional football team in Baltimore, they’ll bring home a championship. Our 8 pro football championships (#9 on the way) kind of make a steroid-tainted “sixpack” look kind of silly.
Now if you’ll excuse me I’ve got to go try and remember what football city won the game dubbed “The Greatest Game Ever Played”.
