Michael Vick is back in bankruptcy court

Try as he might, Michael Vick can’t shake free of the poor decisions he made a few years back.

Lester Munson of ESPN has an interesting follow up to the FOX 29 report PFT mentioned last week. Vick is back in bankruptcy court and will have to explain a series of “embarrassing” financial decisions. In the buildup to Vick’s arrest and bankruptcy declaration, Vick wrote and cashed 67 checks payable to “cash” from his astounding 31 bank accounts.

Vick reportedly gave money to his family instead of paying off creditors. It violates bankruptcy laws to give away assets to friends and family on the eve of a bankruptcy.

The court documents also reveal how Vick misused his resources. He paid a total of $450,000 to the lawyers for his three co-defendants (including Quanis Phillips) in the dogfighting case.

Vick essentially paid the lawyer fees for his buddies so they could turn his back on him, make deals with federal prosecutors and prepare to testify against Vick, forcing him to plead guilty.
