Ochocinco chimes in on T.O.-to-Cincy talk

As best yours truly can tell in the wake of last night’s sudden talk to Terrell Owens joining the Bengals is that, while the Bengals remain interested in T.O., nothing is imminent.

Of course, the definition of “imminent” eventually could come into play.  That said, we’re told that the process involving Owens’ next team is something that will play out this week, and that the Bengals are in the mix.

Amid reports that the deal is close to being done to rumors that it’s already done, Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco is making it clear via Twitter that T.O. will be joining the team.  In one entry, Ochocinco says that “Batman is coming to join me” at training camp.  In a later post, Chad makes it clear that T.O. is Batman and that Chad is Robin.  (Some may suggest a comparison to another pair of, um, superheros.)

All that said, Ochocinco has a tendency to exaggerate and/or fabricate via Twitter.  So it may just be wishful tweeting on the part of a guy who lobbied aggressively earlier this year for the team to sign T.O.

T.O. and Chad = Ace and Gary — The Ambiguously Gay Duo!!

  2. Tim_Stead says: Jul 24, 2010 8:54 AM

The last thing a team like Cincy needs is an ego driven distraction like TO. They have other needs. You’ll know an organization has “grown up” when they walk away from a guy like TO. If Cincy signs this clown then you’ll know it’s business as usual (aka we’re not a top shelf organization) with the Bengals.

Love the AGD reference. Back when SNL was funny…
Go get TO. What the hell. I think the locker room is too strong for even TO to screw up. They dealt with so much last year, with Zimmer’s wife and Slim’s passing. Leadership is better. Again, what the hell, do it.
    Who dey

  4. username says: Jul 24, 2010 9:04 AM

Wow, Ochocinco is really as much of a diva as the haters make him out to be.
Comparing another WR that would be joining the team as Batman and himself as Robin.
What unbeleiveable ego!!!! Afterall Robin was clearly the star in that duo and Batman being just a minor sidekick. He should give TO a bit more credit than that.

Everyone who hates on T.O. is an a**hole. The guy played in Buffalo last year and kept his mouth shut. Cincy would take the AFC North easy, and I am a Browns fan.
Bengal fans should want this to happen badly.

  6. BengalsDouche2 says: Jul 24, 2010 9:14 AM

T.O. wasn’t a distraction at all in Buffalo. Although he knew that team sucked and he wasn’t going anywhere with them anyway so why rock the boat. But still. He realizes now it doesn’t pay off to be a distraction. He’s going to come in and do work. That’s it. He knows this team as a legit chance at making a run in the playoffs and he’s just going to help the cause.

  7. Catamount says: Jul 24, 2010 9:18 AM

    Memo to Ocho-Stinko,
You WILL be in T.O.’s (TOE) shoes within 2 years when no team will want you either so quit spending your money like a drunken sailor & start saving money of what’s left of your career.
And just like TOE if you think a “Reality Show” is going to parlay into the world of Hollywood you would be very much mistaken!

  21. CookieFlash says: Jul 24, 2010 10:07 AM

Ochocinco,Bryant, and T.O. would be a decent WR corps this season. I say screw it I’m in it for the entertainment anyway. Isn’t it about time the Bengals implode agai anyways?…..Marv Lewis has GOT to be a short leash….right?

  22. lakedog19352 says: Jul 24, 2010 10:14 AM

    PS Bengals will be 7-9

  23. BuckeyeBengal says: Jul 24, 2010 10:16 AM

Can you imagine Chad, TO, A. Bryant… that’s quite a receiving corps. Plus, Gresham and Shipley. That’s all I’m saying. I’m all for it. Our locker room is used to distractions and big personalities. I think the team can handle it. Sign him to a 1 yr deal and let’s make a run at it.

Where’s the outrage in the signing of Mike Jones?

  26. njhitman says: Jul 24, 2010 10:27 AM

That would be funny TO and Chad on the same team. OMG just think of the fighting that would go on for the ball . Their be cutting each other off just to get the ball . Be the NFLs funnist football team . The Bengals will go 16-0 just from the other team will die laughing. But would still lose in the playoffs

  27. swervinmervin says: Jul 24, 2010 10:27 AM

Yeah they both have a high regard for themselves! ” I love me some me!” Then Chad, who has to be the center of attention like a 3 year old, could be a dynamic duo ???
    Would Marvin be Commissioner Gordon?
Who would Palmer be? I think he’d be insane by mid season….too bad there’s only one ball.

  31. Dome Unit says: Jul 24, 2010 10:45 AM

what’s the part that makes Ocho and TO “ambiguous”? I have no doubt that TO is a fairy…just look at the scenario, good shape..dresses nicely…always with an entourage of dudes…and let’s not forget his chivalry towards standing up for his “teammate” Tony Blomo. But honestly who really wants a suicidal headcase who cried when 40 million wasn’t enough to support his family? As a Ravens fan I’m so glad that trade never went through because TO is the biggest douchebag in the NFL..Vick and Rapelisberger are the biggest piles of crap but no doubt TO is the cadillac of douchebaggery

You know the Bengals have always been the progressive trendsetters of the league. First criminal reform and now this. Kudos to you Bengals, you’ll finally give the NFL what it needs so badly; An openly gay locker room. You were already openly gay on the field but this is much better.

  40. Lurch says: Jul 24, 2010 11:35 AM

This is the perfect team for T.O. to join!
T.O. and Chad together … in those uniforms! It all fits!
Carson is the perfect quarterback to act as ringmaster for this group. If he can handle Chad, he can handle Batman and Robin. I’d love to watch them as the season progresses.
Here’s hoping that a deal gets done.

  41. JungleNosey says: Jul 24, 2010 11:38 AM

  42. dladd08 says: Jul 24, 2010 11:42 AM

T.O. still deserves a shot and why not with Cincy. With Buffalo there were no problems. As a Cowboys fan I thought T.O. was the truth, and every negative story that came out was never T.O. making comments, it was him having to address in-house situations that had been leaked. 38 TD’s in 3years with the BOYS All this he’s a cancer talk is bull.
Aged but still good productive receiver T.O.

  43. WhodeyTN says: Jul 24, 2010 12:35 PM

I love all the pissed off Steeler fans ragging on the Bengals. Sorry, it’s not our fault that you won’t have a QB for the first 4-6 games, have a declining defense and one of the worst offensive lines in the entire league. I can’t wait until Palmer, Chad, Braynt, T.O., Benson and Gresham roll over you chumps. “Well this year we did this, blah blah blah”. Nobody cares about you, Pittsburgh. The league is going to pass you by soon.

  44. Jungle Juice says: Jul 24, 2010 12:54 PM

    Listen to the Steeler fans.
You guys woulda made it to the playoffs last year except the Rooneys were late on their payments to the refs and Kimo wasn’t there to knee-dive the QB.
We beat you without even having our best pass-rusher, RB, TE, RT and Roy Williams in the game and Carson was playing with one good hand. Whatcha gonna do now?
    Wanna tissue???
I think the Steelers fans are even afraid to come to the MNF game in Cincy to watch the beat-down. It’s been on sale for a week and not sold out.

This is how they do it here in Cincy. They chase the aging big names regardless of their worth. A few years back everybody was going crazy at the possibility of signing Warren Sapp who was clearly at the end of his career. Two years ago everyone wanted Shaun Alexander even though he hadn’t played a meaningful down in over a year (and hasn’t played a down since). Now everyone wants TO even though he’s done more harm than good his entire career.
Look at the teams that are interested in the guy. That tells you all you need to know.

Cincinnati could easily be that fat kid that goes to college and loses all his weight and gets the girls you want. They have a team good enough to put together a string of playoff runs ( I am not on here to bicker about who is better with steeler and ravens fans) Then all the mindless journalist will want to be the fat kids friends and start kissing their a$$es much like they did with the Patriots. Anyone remember when journalist use to beat up on them? I do.
