Bengals owner on Terrell Owens: "It is up to him"

The man at the very top of the Bengals organization has ended any speculation about the team’s interest in Terrell Owens by freely admitting the team wants the VH1 star/possession receiver.

“It is up to him,” Bengals owner Mike Brown said today at the team’s annual training camp media luncheon Monday. “We have interest. We are talking to him.”

The Rams are also reportedly considering making an offer, which could help decide Owens’ priorities.  If he truly wants to contend, he’ll take whatever the Bengals offer him.

If money remains the priority, St. Louis will probably get the nod.

Then again, Owens may be more concerned with star power and the ability to generate headlines than any dollar amount.   If that’s the case, becoming the Joker to Chad Ochocinco’s Batman makes the most sense.

T.O., go to the Bengals! I can’t wait to see both Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens get pummeled by Ray Lewis over the middle! Septemeber can’t get here soon enough! Time to put all these big-headed Bengals back in place, that is, back to the bottom of the AFC North.

  8. edgarpoe says: Jul 26, 2010 12:11 PM

The Bengals are idiots. Why would they want him at this stage of his career? He is past his prime and has proven to be a negative factor in team chemistry many times.
The question now is how much they will offer, considering that there are no real suitors out there. They must be really desperate.

Owens looked awful in Buffalo last year.
The lousy QBs were a big part of that, but even on the rare occassions when the QBs actually managed to get the ball somewhere near Owens he’d drop it a lot. And he didn’t seem to be generating much separation.

Your called “big-headed bengals fans” because you had one good fluke of a season and all of a sudden are the biggest trash-talkers in the NFL. Keyword: FLUKE. Fluke as in you’ll NEVER sweep division again, and if you do, who cares? The Ravens still went father in the playoffs and the Bengals, well, they didn’t even win a playoff game! Who’s care if you sweep the division if you can’t get it taken care of in the post-season. Also, crappy secondary? Have you not been paying attention to all the veteran secondary pick-ups the Ravens have made throughout the offseason. Really, I heard idiots like you say that about Irvin and Smith and how’d that work out — that’s right 3 Super Bowl rings. If ego is a problem then look inward because ALL teams have a guy with a little ego problem, it’s just that they don’t always express it with their mouths but with the sense of entitlement that they show to others off camera.

Buffalo has better QB’s. Are you kidding me? If you knew football you’d know that Buffalo’s starter was our $hitty backup who gave us I think a 4 win season. Carson went down and we had to rely on crazy legs Fitzpatrick to “lead” our team. That went really well. At least Carson can put together a winning season even injured. Our locker room was rock solid last year. Even with Roy Williams, Ocho, Tank and Benson who everyone calls trouble makers. You honestly think T.O. is going to be able to mess up chemistry in this locker room? No way. He’d be put in check really fast and sent packing. I love seeing these Ravens fans out in force. You have an old, overrated defense who helped us win your game by getting in late hits and cheap shots since they couldn’t stop our basic, non-creative offensive plays that Bratkowski runs. You guys are the most overrated team in the league right now and we’ll be glad to prove that to you.

  24. edgarpoe says: Jul 26, 2010 12:55 PM

    ochostinko,
The NFL needs to let the players play. A few years ago, Ray Lewis’s hit would not even gotten a second thought from the officials. Now, they seem to invent reasons for tossing the yellow.

  25. BengalsDouche2 says: Jul 26, 2010 12:55 PM

headrush4you- you’re exactly right. he will just grab their face masks and slam them. that’s all his old ass can do now is cheap shots and illegal hits. he has to figure some way to stop the play even if it is cheating. the old murderer will break a hip eventually. you saw chad bounce right back up after that late hit last year. the old man just doesn’t have the fight in him like he used to.

I’m pissed that there are already problems with Antonio Bryant, but still even if you hate TO and the Bengals- don’t you think an offense with Ced Benson, Carson, Chad, TO, Greshem will be very difficult to stop? Then add Antonio if healthy? That would be impressive.
Add that to an excellent defense that brings everyone back and adds some young players, I think this team could really be a handful. But hey, I’m biased.

The Bengals sweeping the division was pretty significant last year, and if they get TO their offense will be pretty solid. Actually your point means nothing because if what your saying is true then it doesnt matter what either team did since neither one went to the superbowl. It is funny that the Bengals have consistently owned you guys.
If you’re laughing at me, well, I’m from outside Indianapolis. My team owns you too.
We love sending you guys home.

    @Buckeyes #1.
Yes. Most NFL fans do consider the bengals season a fluke. answer the two questions below and you’ll see why.
    1. when was the last time the bengals have been to the playoffs back to back years?
    ANSWER: Never
    2. when was the last time the bengals have had back to back winning seasons?
    ANSWER: ’81-’82 seasons.
Now, ask the same two questions to your rival AFC North teams and see what Ravens and Steelers fan say about their respective teams.

I’d love to see TO win a championship, and if it was my team I’d welcome him with open arms. Still a great talent.

The point Im making is that it isnt Carson thats the problem, it was many other things, specifically Shayne Grahams’ terrible choke habit
    a la 07, 08, and playoffs in 09.
    And you wear purple.

Once again – When ALL ELSE FAILS, blame it on the kicker.
And yes, I do wear Purple. Wore it in 96′, wore it when I was at ECU, and I’m still wearing it. Chris Johnson and Ray Lewis wore/wear it too, have a problem?

Why is everyone so mad about T.O. being signed with the Bengals? Is it because you all know that we will be the best team in the leauge? Get over it & quit whining I think it is a good thing for Cincinnati & the Bengals & I hope we sign T.O. soon! T.O. welcome to Cincinnati!

Are the Bungles running a football team or a rehab facility for headcase receivers? I guess they don’t have enough of a list of reasons to laugh at them for – they need to add TO to spice it up.
