Jets have no interest in Adalius Thomas

Adalius Thomas has languished on the free agent market since late April, so it should be apparent by now that the rest of the league shares the Patriots evaluation of the linebacker.

Just in case you needed confirmation, there’s this note from Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.

“[Rex] Ryan himself indicated there could be some interest down the road. Well,
don’t hold your breath on that happening. Right now, the Jets have no
interest in Thomas.”

Thomas could be looking for too much money when teams see him as a part-time player.  Still, it’s telling that his old employers in Baltimore and his old boss in New York have said no thanks.

Adalius Thomas might be the most overhyped free agent addition in recent NFL history.

He makes the Nate Clements deal that much better

Adalius is a good guy, but lets just say that Adalius has a very inflated opinion of the importance of Adalius. He’ll catch on somewhere…when the price drops.

Good, it shows that the Jets are focused on working out contract extensions with core players as opposed to pissing away any more $$ on overpriced and overhyped vets.

Listening to Rich Cimini is bad for your health (and your intelligence)

Jets have no interest in Adalius Thomas, only players that have been arrested numerous times.

Yea, and how’s that working out? The only contract given to a “core player” was a joke and an insult. Cheap stupid franchise.

I’m interested in the locker room backstories to find out just what this guy did to run himself out of the league. It’s obvious his self-importance is inflated.

Give up Jones for Tomlison? Superbowl team? What f in joke.

My guess is he’ll be brought in from the Chargers midway through the season when Merriman or Phillips continues to underperform and we want a guy who can come in on 3rd down for passrush much like Phillips was early in his career
Other than that I dont know who would use him, but I could see that happening for the Chargers if they continue to be unable to get to the QB as they did all last year

The Pats had trouble getting to the QB last year and Thomas was unable to help them in that regard….what makes you think he’d be better with the Chargers?

Here’s a lesson for the players that like to freelance too much.

The guy was an asshole in Baltimore & burned his bridges when he left town as an overhyped, overpaid FA. Thats why his former employers in Baltimore want nothingto do w/ him.

I dont think Thomas could come back to Baltimore if he begged. The organization doesnt want him and neither does the fans. He was such a jackass and had nothing nice to say about the organization or his former teammates. He took the Ed Hartwell route, when he should have done what Bart Scott did. Thank the organization and the fans for the opportunity and went on his merry little way. No trash talk about Ravens players and how much greater life is with his new team than it was in Baltimore.

Add him to the list of so called great free agents from the Ravens that ended up not being as good as they thought they were. Gary Baxter, Ed Hartwell, and Adalius Thomas among others thought they were so great and wanted all this money to go somewhere else and found out that it wasn’t the player that made them so good it was the system.
