Good neighbors of our lost their only son last January when he tripped and fell down the basement stairs in the home he had lived in his whole life.
He died from a broken neck. He was only 19 years old and was one week away from leaving for Army basic training.
Accidents DO happen and just because it happened to a football player doesn’t mean he was drunk or anything like that. It may well have just been that: an accident.

He can’t “PUP for the early part of the season”. He’s not under contract. The Ravens will have to sign him first- and what kind of contract will they offer him now?

A) Why did anyone deem this team Championship caliber?
B) As easy as it would be to take shots, I will take the high road. Hope he recovers well. I know he has a history, but I have woke up in the middle of the night, sober mind you, A) Smoking a cigarette outside B) Sitting in my car C) Hanging out on the railing on the 5th floor of a hotel in Panama, D) Sprinted into a 60″ Sony TV. All while being a sleepwalker & having no idea what in the hell was going on! Scary stuff!

Kindle claims he doesn’t drink anymore and claims that he has narcolepsy. Given these claims, sleep walking is just as viable an explanation for what happened as is being drunk. More, really.
I realize that preaching open-mindedness here is as pointless as preaching monogamy to NBA stars, but I thought I’d give it a shot anyway.

Good post. I admit I jumped to conclusions because it seems incomprehensible to me that a well conditioned athlete could simply fall down the stairs and have alcohol or a baby momma with a knife or whatever not involved but certainly this is possible.
Either way it sucks for the kid.

If the narcolepsy excuse truly exists as his, as shaslers states, then he’s a dumb s… for sleeping ANYWHERE other than on a lower floor. Don’t care if there’s no bed there you can sleep on a couch. Don’t buy it at all, unless he’s really that stupid. Sorry, stupidity and alcohol makes much more sense.

Seriously, wouldn’t Kindle have stopped falling after the FIRST flight of stairs? How in the world did his straight momentum cause him to make a 90 degree turn to fall down the second flight? Maybe he can make up an excuse of angular momentum, but that would be too many syllables for Kindle.

Many players have done this. Training camp ends weeks before the season opener……so, one could miss the entire camp and still get in 2-3 weeks of practice! Duhhh!

Wonder if Ray Lewis and/or Donte Stallworth was around this guy??
The difference between the Steelers and Ravens is that the Steelers are playing w/ house money this year (given one of the worst off-seasons in team history).
The Ravens are a fashionable preseason pick for the Super Bowl.
It’ll be interesting to see which team grabs the division title.
