It’s a good thing the Giants have a lot of depth on the defensive line.
Before training camp even starts comes word that the injury-wracked unit from a year ago already has a major concern. Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger reports Osi Umenyiora has dealt with hip pain all offseason and visited a specialist a month ago.
That specialist — the same doctor A-Rod and Ed Reed used — recommended surgery and initially set an appointment. The team, Umenyiora, and the doctor all eventually agreed to “pass on surgery for now” because the injury won’t grow worse by playing on it.
Yeah, so maybe it’s a good idea that Umenyiora comes off the bench this year after all.
Can’t he just get some vathaline intenthive lothin to rub on it from his boy strahan?
beginning of the end of the giants season already
@parasonics
Strahan was already rubbing him down.
Smuggs1 is right, I guess the Giants will have to get by with Justin Tuck and Mathias Kiwanuka starting at DE with their first round pick Pierre-Paul as the number 3 DE if Umenyiora can’t play. What a nightmare! No other team in the NFL has the depth at DE that the Giants have.
better put some banta-cain on that…

Thats ok, I’d rather see Jason Pierre Paul in there roatating with Kiwi anyway. JPP is gonna smash QB’s this year. The kid is to quick for offensive linemen. Giants will win the Super Bowl in Dallas this season. Also gonna love when L. Jospeh out shines the rest of the DT’s that were drafted in front of him. Big, strong and fast. That defense is back on track.
The Giants didn’t even lose him let alone a starter with this news. Tuck and Kiwi were the two starters anyway. How that begins the ending of the Giants season I dont know.
Osi=has always overrated
Have we swept the Cowboys again yet?

Have the Giants made the playoffs again yet?
@ SMUGGS1 How is it the beginning of the end. Osi can’t play the run, and he is a cancer. They were fine without him in 2008, and they would be fine without him this season if he couldn’t play.
@royk
Let’s see Cowboy douche, since 2004, the Giants have been to the playoffs every year except last year, with a SB trophy thrown in the mix. You America’s Turds win a playoff game and get some pre-season hype and you start flappin’ your gums. Typical..
