After an offseason of drama, Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth is apparently in town and ready to report to training camp with the rest of his teammates on Thursday.
Jason Reid of the Washington Post reports that Haynesworth has arrived, is ready to work and is optimistic after good conversations with teammates.
Up next for Haynesworth, he hopes, is a good conversation with coach Mike Shanahan, who said recently that the team would move on without Haynesworth if Haynesworth wouldn’t buy into the system.
Chris Russell of ESPN Radio reports that Haynesworth will reach out to Shanahan today in an attempt to clear the air before training camp starts. According to Russell, Haynesworth is in good shape and has lost at least 40 pounds.
Which only a cynic would interpret as an attempt to get down to the size of a 3-4 defensive end, and not a nose tackle.
