BOTTOM LINE...... the Bengals swept the division last year and handily won the AFC North. They've dramatically improved their offense with Bryant, Owens, Jermaine Gresham and Jordan Shipley to run the Welker routes across the middle.
Their Top-4 Defense from last year gets back a healthy Odom (NFL sack leader when he went down), Rey Maualuga, Roy Williams from injury. They also added college football's best pass rusher last season in Dunlap.
You tell me.... who's the favorite?

Uhhh they have no desire to cut Bryant. They are loading up because they feel like this is the best chance they have had since '05 to get a ring.
When they last went to the SB in '88 they had 3 great receivers in Collinsworth, Eddie Brown and Tim McGee, a Probowl TE in Holman, two Prowbowl RBs in Brooks and Woods and a very good O-Line. The Defense had a good DB group. I think Brown is trying to recreate that and maybe take the prize this time.
With our Defense and Running game the passing game doesn't even have to be that great but with Gresham, Coffman, Shipley and the FA WRs it is starting to look pretty dang good.
We are also getting Odom and Roy Williams back on D and Peko and Crocker appear to be healthy. We added Carlos Dunlap in the draft. Ranked #4 last year with those guys not here or missing a lot of time. We may jump even higher.
@Brnsfn and other AFC North fans - keep wishin for that "implosion".
Plus, how do Ravens fans have room to talk? They added someone who killed a guy and another who griped his way off the team for more $$$ !!
-------------------- -------------------- ---
Did you just reference a team from 1988 as a blueprint for success in 2010? hahaha
Yes he did, and he also copied and pasted an article from Geoff Hobson @ Bengals.com, at least credit him jwill.

Crabtree???. Percy Smoke 1 or Smoke 2 Harvin??? Roddy White??? Dude come on....But keep lookin for something to use....If your team plays my team and they get their ass kicked dont come up with excuses man up and say " we got our ass kicked" and dont be using the Refs as an excuse either....I hate that shit!
So you truly think Antonio Bryant is a #1 receiver. In his 8 tear career he has 30 TDs, that is less than 4/ year. He has had 2 1,oo0 yard seasons. He played in 13 games last year and caught 39 passes. Plus he has knee issues.
I said that a few of the guys on my list were debatable, but I don't think any of them would trade their #1 guy for Bryant. Especially given the youth of both Crabtree and Harvin.
Crabtree played in fewer games and had more catches and yards than Bryant last year, as a rookie. It stands to reason that he will only improve on that. Few rookie receivers come in and have an immediate impact.
Harvin also had more catches and yards than Bryant.
White had 2,400 yards and 18 TDs last two seasons. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
I still think most of those teams would stay away from Owens due to his age and character issues. The fact that no one else wanted to sign him I think proves my point.

"You forgot someone...
Browns - Massaquoi"
You say this in jest, but they had a chance to sign both and didn't...along with MOST other teams in the NFL who may have needed an improvement at wide receiver. It is "a little" telling.
Who knows with the masterful talent evaluators of the Bengals, I'm sure we are all wrong and they are once again correct.

Love the fact that all the haters are coming out now that the Bengals have three receivers that would be #1 receivers on most teams in the NFL... LOVE IT
Really? I understand supporting your team, but I am willing to bet there are LOTS of teams that would not want Owens or Bryant as their #1 receiver. Owens didn't even reach 900 yards receiving last year and did not lead the team in TD's. Bryant has injury issues and they both have character issues.
Colts - Reggie Wayne
Patriots - Randy Moss
Texans - Andre Johnson
Cardinals - Larry Fitzgerald
Falcons - Roddy White
Lions - Calvin Johnson
Ealges - Deshawn Jackson
Packers -Greg Jennings
Vikings - Pervy Harvin
Saints -Marques Colston
49ers - Michael Crabtree
Cowboys - Miles Austin
Panthers - Steve Smith
Chargers - Vincent Jackson
Granted a few of these are debatable, but considering age, health, and character issues I think that the teams above are pretty content with their #1s.

You're an idiot Florio. The league is going to the spread offense mentality. When you're third receiver is either Antonio Bryant or T.O. you’re sitting pretty well.
Look at the rest of the AFC North minus Cleveland. This move was simply to catch up to Baltimore and stay ahead of the Steelers in regards to the WR depth. nothing more, nothing less....

Uh, slow down, training camp hasn't even started yet. Come on Florio, I usually hate the idiots on here that badmouth the writers, but this is just a tad bit early on this one. Even if he is banged up, TO gives the the ability to wait a couple of games.
--------------------------------------------------
I gotta agree with him on this one. Its way to early to even make any claim on this. He still has 4 years remaining and training camp only reports today and starts tomorrow. Wait till maybe half the season to bring this topic back up

FACT.... there has never been anything to suggest that the Bengals ever wanted to cut Antonio Bryant. This is slopppy journalism. Florio may fancy himself an NFL GM, but he is not one.
FACT... the Bengals interest in T.O. was "rekindled" because they had the opportunity to get one of the most productive receivers of all time for $2mm. That is a no-brainer.
Just report a story...don't try to create one. You're not a very good author.

"Even if he is banged up, TO gives the the ability to wait a couple of games."
I am in no way defending/bashing this article, but I think the bigger point is that roster cutdowns will be way before a couple of games.
Bengals receivers:
Already Bengals;
Chad Ochocinco, Andre Caldwell, Maurice Pruify(CUT), Freddie Brown(2009 draft pick CUT), Quan Cosby(2009 UDFA CUT), Jerome Simpson(2008 2nd rd draft pick ?CUT?)
Signed this offseason;
Terrell Owens, Antonio Bryant, Matt Jones(?CUT)
2010 draft picks;
Jordan Shipley and Desmon Briscoe...assume neither get cut so...
1.Chad
2. Terrell
3. Antonio
4. Jordan
5. Desmon
Only one more spot left at most...
Andre Caldwell?, Jerome Simpson?, Matt Jones?
They will have to cut one or two players that they have invested in the future for...I think this is the more telling outcome of this article, that Bryant will be taking a spot from one of these young guys.

HEY FLORIO and FANS HATIN,
Read this from the Cincy Locker room....
"I think it’s great," Crocker said. "It just shows we’re trying to do everything, and it will add another piece to get us to the Super Bowl in Dallas in February. We have so many other guys on the team that have had question marks beside them as far as character is concerned, but our locker room is as strong as it gets. If T.O. is half of the player he was before he went to Buffalo, that’s going to be a great thing for us."
"There’s one common goal, and there’s not one person or one man who can divide our locker room," Crocker said. "That’s to get to the Super Bowl. There’s enough strong personalities and we have enough strong leadership that we won’t allow a bunch of dissension. As long as you’re a good person and willing to show you’ll do right, that’s all that matters.
"There are enough guys in the locker room where we police each other. Everybody has egos and strong personalities but we have guys who know how to take somebody to the side and talk to them about what’s going on. We don’t let things go. We handle issues in house and we take care of it and move on."
Chris Crocker reacts to Terrell Owens signing
"So he definitely doesnt want to come up in there with the "2nd year with the Eagles" BS.....
