Carlos Dunlap signs aboard in Cincinnati

Congratulations to second round pick Carlos Dunlap, the subject of the shortest rookie signing announcement in NFL history.

Dunlap signing,” the Bengals official Twitter account reports.  (Yep, that’s it.)

Dunlap fits right in with other recent boom-or-bust Bengals draft picks.  Once thought of as a potential top-20 pick, the Florida product slipped to No. 54 because of questions about his maturity, work ethic, and consistency.

Remarkably talented, Ourlads Scouting services described Dunlap this way: “If the game was played in shorts and t-shirts he would relish that.”

Dunlap will try to climb the depth chart at a deep position for the Bengals, so they don’t need him to play much initially.

Hey Gregg, to what position do you refer? Inquiring minds want to know.

Seriously? Quit hating on the Bengals so much… It’s a second round pick…Which usually is described as a player that slid out of the first when you’re looking at any team.. Besides they passed on loud mouth Dez Bryant in the first round to go after a quite humble Jermaine Gresham.. How’s he a boom or bust pick?

It’s funny how you mention that, but you never once mention exactly what that position is. A lot of people follow college football and the draft, but I’d be willing to bet that less than 50% of the DAILY readers of this site actually knew Dunlap is a DE.

I agree with Ourlads. Dunlap is so tough he doesn’t need pads.

Now that Carlos has the green light to report to camp, just hope he doesn’t sleep through it.

I’m glad I’m not the only one irritated by this.
Why don’t you just refer to him as “Football player Carlos Dunlap”, Gregg?

Now if the Ravens would have selected him he would have been a “steal” and Ozzy would have been a “genius” for outsmarting the rest of the league. Yawn….We know the script.
