Dez Bryant: "I'm trying my best to do the right thing"

We told you about Dez Bryant’s comments on Tuesday.

Now you can see them for yourself.  The culprit in his mind to this mini-controversy was not Roy Williams or the tradition of carrying pads, but the media.

Sounds like a veteran already.

  1. What gets played more? The “race card” or the “it’s the media’s fault” card?
It’ll be interesting to see how he handles himself when it comes to the media. It’ll be a good test of his maturity and patience. It’s not something that’s going to go away.

  2. Slow news day?
OMFG the amount of attention you media types are devoting to Dez Bryant has passed the absurd stage.
Maybe you should report something about how he’s doing in camp (rated the best WR in camp so far by the Coaches), you know, something actually related to football. Instead the media prefers to imitate the Soap Opera rags with respect to this kid.

  3. I have to say I am shocked at how he has handled this situation…
Shocked in a good way! Keep it up Dez and you’ll erase any doubters from pre-draft.

  4. Uuuuhh, Dez…….I think “the right thing” might be to carry the guys *****ing pads, you borderline defective.

  5. I can’t wait to see Dez go over the middle! He’ll get a hearty welcome to the NFL defenses for this prima donna diva!

  6. Dez is going to be paid millions of dollars to play a game, he is an entertainer, why would he expect any other type of treatment. If he doesn’t like it he can go ply his trade at McDonalds.
If he wanted to do things right he would have done what every other rookie has done before him.

  7. Not a Cowboys fan and could care less about Dez Bryant (was pretty sure he’d be an all-time bust but starting to have doubts now) … but he’s laying the blame where it should be laid. Sheesh – the posting of this bit is evidence of the media’s obsession with nothing. definitely the proverbial mountain out of a mole hill.
So he wouldn’t carry pads like all rookies do. So what? Really? This makes him an a-hole? A bust? A demi-god? What’s wrong with people? Rhetorical question … don’t answer.
Please, enough already. This is not news. It doesn’t matter.
