When he settles in behind Kalil, Otah, Gross, Wharton, etc., he will show you what he has.
listen, i like Clausen, but unless Moore starts screwing up, it’s his job to lose. Clausen, however, is going to be behind Moore and if Moore screws up, he can give the job to Clausen because Fox’s job is on the line here.

Some of you posters are idiots with a computer and pre-paid internet service.
WHo know what you have in Clausen. This QUESTION caused him to drop–people want sure bets in the first. However, Clausen played behind a weak OL at ND and because of that, was injured and had to learn to throw on the run. He rushes things on occasion as a result. When he settles in behind Kalil, Otah, Gross, Wharton, etc., he will show you what he has. But some of you assholes act like the opportunity to make a public comment gives you supreme powers to determine the future and analyze talent. Lunch break is over, so, get back on the truck and get back to work, assuming you have jobs.

Oh really? From what I remember, Clausen hardly ever misses any games. And even when he was hurt this year he toughed it out and still played.

I disagree, if he went to another team, he could’ve been better. Notre Dame’s offensive line was a work in progress for the 3 years he was there. he did have recievers, but not a great line or defense.
And why does everyone hate this kid??? i like him, he won’t start this year unless Moore sucks. He WILL be the 2nd quarterback behind Moore. Cantwell has a bigger arm, but i think Clausen will end up outperforming Cantwell in preseason and take his job. Moore is the competition and unless the Panthers are 3 and 6, i cant see Moore losing his job.

Jimmy Clausen has been hyped up since he was in highschool and still hasn’t lived up to the hype. I’m not saying he was bad at Notre Dame, but he wasn’t anything special. Panthers should of been trying to get T.O., w/ Steve Smith out, instead of signing fluke QB’s. The Panthers look like the Ravens back in the Boller era: a solid all-around team led by an over-rated QB. Except now we have Mr. Flacco and it’s all up-hill from here! Be scared Charlotte, very very scared. Baltimore Ravens 2011 Superbowl Champions!

No worries, I think maybe given the chance Clausen will be good, in a few years. Moore played lights out last year (NOT meaningless December games) against New England, Minnesota, New Orleans and 2 years before against teams that did have playoff implications even though the Panthers didn’t. I don’t think he’s the second coming, but I think he’s workable and can take a team that was 8-8 WITH Delhomme giving the ball away to the other team, and make them a respectable 10-6 possibly, making it into the playoffs. Of course I hope for better, but I’ll take 9-7 even with getting in the playoffs if necessary. Clausen is hopefully a non-factor this year.

I know a pretty no nonsense type ND fan who feels the same. He never liked the guy as a player. I never thought he was anything special either.
Weis made him his money just like he did with Quinn. KC is the smart team because they got Weis instead of drafting Clausen.
I am rooting for Moore big time. Always liked the kid since I saw him as a junior at Oregon State.

Ah, so where is Florio??? He conveineintly stayed away from writing this article.
I guess he only writes about Clausen when it involves ripping on him for being “loving and caring” or when he is claiming it is a fact that it is “all about Jimmy”.

Matt Moore will be a very good QB if given the opportunity. Has already shown flashes of great play.
Best thing Clausen can do is hold the clip board for a year.
