Redskins making major push to get Trent Williams into camp

More and more first-round picks are coming to terms.  To date, however, not a single top-five selection has been signed.

That could change tonight.

Multiple sources tell us that the Redskins are closing in on a deal with tackle Trent Williams, the fourth overall pick in the 2010 draft.

One source said that the Redskins are making a “major push” to get Williams signed.  Another source said that a deal was close earlier today, but differences arose.

Either way, we’re told the Redskins want Williams in camp by Friday, and that it could happen before the sun rises on Friday.

Hopefully MDS will have insomnia again.

  1. well, the redskins need a left tackle and they got to get him signed in and ready for camp.

  2. It seems different this year with how slow the picks have signed so far. Normally the 1st pick is signed before the draft, meanwhile this year, there’s still no contract hammered out. Meanwhile only a few in the first round have been signed at all, makes me wonder why is it so different this year. Is it somehow related to the CBA issues?

  3. Will they make him take the conditioning test as he wasn’t part of the OTA’s or off season work outs?

  4. In a related story, Fat Albert will also be making a “major push” tonight to ensure that he will not have to take a bathroom break during his second go-around with the dreaded conditioning test tomorrow.

  5. Trent is hoping Haynesworth has a cardiac arrest so Shanahan will be forced to drop the fitness test before he signs and shows up.

  6. MDS has insomnia because you make him wear that bloody ankle bracelet that beeps every 15 minutes.

No, because he did take part in all the OTA’s and off season work, along with the rest of the rookies. Except fpr Austin, who missed a lot because of UCLA’s late graduation date.
