Next Saturday, the last of the Triplets will enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame, as Emmitt Smith gives Jimmy Kimmel some monologue fodder in Canton.
Then, the last of the Triplets will join the cast of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. Quarterback Troy Aikman told his on-air partner’s favorite website that he’ll take part in the celebrity dancing competition “next year.”
Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin previously have appeared on the show, which typically features at least one current or former NFL player.
Other past players include Jerry Rice (who’ll also enter the Hall of Fame next Saturday), Jets defensive end Jason Taylor, eventual Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp, and Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco.
Aikman currently serves as the top game analyst on FOX, making him the third FOX regular in two days to accept a moonlighting assignment with another network.
UPDATE: Aikman now claims that he was joking. We’re still waiting for the punchline.
