Albert Haynesworth is "tired of this B.S."

Thumbnail image for A. Haynesworth2.jpgYou can only push Albert Haynesworth so far before he spouts off.

I’m tired of this B.S., I just want to get out on field and play football,” Haynesworth told NBC4 in Washington on Thursday evening, before he failed the team’s conditioning test for a second time.

We wonder how he feels now.

Even some teammates have “privately expressed concerned” Mike Shanahan is just trying to make an example of Haynesworth, according to Jason Reid of the Washington Post.  One player said that “few players” are capable of passing the test that only Haynesworth has been required to take.

Haynesworth will get to take his third crack at the test Saturday morning; we’ll see if Shanahan feels his defensive lineman has been humbled enough yet to let him practice.

Cry us all a river Al. What a dough boy, crying after the FIRST day and having to run 900 freakin’ yards.

  6. zangy says: Jul 30, 2010 11:27 AM

Haynesworth is a d-bag but if Shanahan is only making him do this conditioning test then it is bullsh*t.

  7. Osterhouse says: Jul 30, 2010 11:27 AM

Shanny better know what he is doing or else this locker room and team chemistry will be a mess

  8. Captain Common Sense says: Jul 30, 2010 11:28 AM

HAHA, so NOW he wants to just be on the field. Where was he during OTA’s? I hate this fat ass, he is getting what he deserves right now. He wanted special treatment, well here it is.

  9. washington chadsucks says: Jul 30, 2010 11:28 AM

there have been different reports out. Is this test one that all the lineman have had to take or is it specificly designed for Albert?

  10. Spoonthis says: Jul 30, 2010 11:28 AM

Awe, poor baby. Suck it up. Look at your bank account balance and shut up.

Gotta say until Haynesworth has a ring or two, he needs to shut up play ball and honor his over inflated contract.

  16. Caldon says: Jul 30, 2010 11:32 AM

Damn right they need to make an example of him, all that money he is making + the crap he pulled? You can’t let that pass and let other players think they can get away with it either.

  17. Butt Fart says: Jul 30, 2010 11:32 AM

    Chilly, are you reading this?
Do you now see that one player is not above the rest of the team?
What do you have planned for Brent’s conditioning test?

  18. pwndabear says: Jul 30, 2010 11:32 AM

of course shanahan is making an example. haynesworth is a piece of garbage who is overpaid and not willing to work for the dough he was given. Shanahan is basically saying, “you jerk me around, i jerk you around.”
    K.a.r.m.a.

  19. mustbechris says: Jul 30, 2010 11:35 AM

i wish a had a very tiny violin to play for him. pay me 21 million dollars and i’ll run however many hundreds of yards you want and play any position on the field you want me to.

  20. TheRedBengal says: Jul 30, 2010 11:35 AM

Shanahan better watch it. AH is known for stomping on some face…

  21. BigMikeSkinsFan says: Jul 30, 2010 11:36 AM

I think we are all tired of this BS. if he is passing the test but Shan is just changing the rules then its lame. If Albert cant pass the standard test thats lame.
but at some time someone has to either stop changing the rules or someone needs to get their fat ass in gear.

  22. TheRedBengal says: Jul 30, 2010 11:37 AM

In all seriousness though, why would they have the dude do the conditioning test again today after failing it yesterday? This isn’t a written test. You can’t just all of a sudden get in shape in a night.

  25. Jaxeagle says: Jul 30, 2010 11:38 AM

sometime coaches are their own worst enemies, before he pulled this stunt I bet he had everyone in the room squarely behind him since Big Al is such a douche, now he blows it by being a bigger douche.

  26. robert ethen says: Jul 30, 2010 11:38 AM

Later in the day, Albert unknowingly passed the test while chasing a frightened rat back and forth across the playing field. Obeservers estimate he covered well over 600 yards before the rat escaped the compound by clambering over a wall.

  27. reo says: Jul 30, 2010 11:39 AM

If AH refuses to take the test and isn’t cleared to practice… what are the repurcussions? Can they use that as a basis to get money back?

What an effin tool! He put the entire rRedskin front office through hell for the alst 3 months, and this little baby is crying cause Mike S is pushing him harder than the others?
I swear if the Union or other players stand up for him, the NFL should immediately outlaw all signing bonuses and make all contracts not guaranteed ones. Did the poor little boy have to wrun 900 feet and than run 900 feet again? Oh my maybe he ought to get 20 million dollars; oh yea that is right, he already did get more money then all the posters on this site make in a decade.

  30. Gray Eagle says: Jul 30, 2010 11:42 AM

Well, we’re a little put off by his.

  31. Florio-is-a-tool says: Jul 30, 2010 11:43 AM

It only took the $100 million man two days before he reverted back to Fat Albert. Of course he has no idea that not showing up to the OTA’s might be the cause.
But shouldn’t he be in shape for this stuff anyway, seeing how he’s getting paid a ton of money to play a game? Good for Shanahan.

  32. GyroMan says: Jul 30, 2010 11:44 AM

  33. Philly Cheese says: Jul 30, 2010 11:45 AM

  34. smiley says: Jul 30, 2010 11:45 AM

  37. skinsfan81 says: Jul 30, 2010 11:46 AM

His teammates already called him out, so why any concern? He needs to be humbled, pass the test, and show he is willing to do whatever it takes to play football. He lost weight, but that doesn’t mean he is in “football shape.” Alberts’ getting exactly what he deserves for blowing this team off after running away with 21 mil.

Also on a side note I commend Dez Bryant (i hate the cowboys) on not carrying the pads, take his F’n job not his pads! The whole hazing rookies things is a bit immature for professionals, hows about you bring the rookies in and get them “Dwayne Bowe’d”. It seems like that would be more logical if you are trying to build team morale. Dont humiliate them… make them feel at home….DONT PICK UP THOSE PADS DEZ or ill have to go back to hating the entire cowboys team again.

  41. HarrisonHits says: Jul 30, 2010 11:48 AM

Hey if the scumbag hadn’t tried to screw the team out of 21 million maybe he wouldn’t have to deal with “this BS”.
He sure as hell didn’t want to get out on the field during OTAs or anything else that happened during the offseason. While everyone else was working he was sitting on his fat ass and laughing at the team all the way to the bank.
Now he suddenly wants to play ? FU you disgusting pig.

maybe, just maybe he is trying to get the players to start feeling bad that “coach is being mean to him” and get them to stick up for him. nothing makes players of all kinds come together than a common enemy..even the coach in training camp.

  44. freewilhunting says: Jul 30, 2010 11:51 AM

300 yard shuttle run is (6) 25 yard continuous sprints. He has 71 seconds to complete the drill. If he does each 25 yard run in 11 seconds, then he get 66 seconds. This should be easy to complete for someone who has been training all off season.

  45. Ska4Life says: Jul 30, 2010 11:53 AM

What does this prove? That Albert Haynewsworth isn’t in better shape than most of the team? Shannahan seems to be on a power/ego trip here, and I hope he comes down before he makes this a bigger deal than it has to be. The man showed up…don’t make him miss time because he isn’t in ultra shape.

  46. Chip says: Jul 30, 2010 11:54 AM

  47. chhutson27 says: Jul 30, 2010 11:56 AM

Shanahan is the coach, and he’s letting Fat Al know that the coach is in charge, not the players. It’s the same as it was in college for us – coach blows the whistle, we run. If we thought we were above the team, we ran extra, we did reminders, we did ring of fire, or something. There’s a reason why coaches have the whistles. They are in charge. Fat Al needs to realize he’s the employee, and not the boss. Shanahan is just making sure he knows that.

  48. cheeseweasel says: Jul 30, 2010 11:56 AM

I couldn’t care less that AH blew off OTAs or offseason conditioning, as a Skins fan. Again, sick of people’s big mouths, reporters, fans, etc. Let the fat man fail in practice, not in wind sprints. Ridiculous.

  53. SkinsFanODG says: Jul 30, 2010 11:59 AM

  54. rooster75 says: Jul 30, 2010 11:59 AM

You tell it like it is, Fat Albert! I mean, really, if Shanahan was so upset at Ellen for leaving “American Idol,” surely he could’ve found another way to vent his frustration besides taking it out on Haynesworth.
Haynesworth even tried to lend a sympathetic ear to his head coach’s distress. Midway through his first 300-yd shuttle run, observers overheard Fat Albert gasping, “Coach, I wanted Ellen to stay too!”

  55. HomoforRomo says: Jul 30, 2010 11:59 AM

Shanahan needs to drop it- he made his point, made an ass out of him and now he needs to move on. If he keeps screwing with him, the rest of the team is going to get on Al’s side and Shanahan may lose the sqaud before the season even starts.

  57. edgy says: Jul 30, 2010 12:03 PM

This is going to blow up on Shanahan’s face because Albert will either fall over dead and his family will go after him and the Redskins for more than the money that they’re trying to get back from him or he’ll get “injured” and the Redskins won’t be able to collect any of their money that they’re trying to get back. I also think that it will start to piss off some of the veterans, especially if they feel that he’ll start pissing on them if they don’t do everything that he wants.

Dude, I’m a smoker, I barely ever exercise and I haven’t played competitive sports or been in any kind of training program since highschool. That being said, I was curious how hard it would be to sprint 600 yards, as described. I did it yesterday. Ran as hard as I could, back and forth 12 times, 25 yards each time, waited a couple minutes and did it again. It wasn’t fun, I was winded at the end, but it wasn’t anywhere near impossible or even super difficult. Now I don’t know what the time restrictions on it are, but I’d be willing to bet my sprint is faster than Haynesworth’s sprint.

Really?? This highly depends on the coach and the scheme. Have you ever seen Vince Wilfork chase down and catch a running back on the sidelines? I can assure you, he was well out of his “small area” and was anything but “immovable.” And, even with his big contract, he’s making far less money than AH. Maybe Vince should come down to D.C. and show Fat Albert how it’s done.

  67. edgy says: Jul 30, 2010 12:26 PM

When Dallas hired Bill Parcells, they hired a 3-4 man to coach a 4-3 team and he didn’t have 3-4 personnel. Rather than taking the team right to 3-4 land and hamstringing his players and his DC, he stayed with it for 2 years and the Pokes drafted the players to make the change and in his 3rd year, the Cowboys moved to the 3-4. Shanahan didn’t need to make the change this year and it’s stupid for him to do it now when the team’s best players are best served by the 4-3. You can bitch at Albert all you want but Shanahan didn’t have to be so stubborn and now the team is going to end up being pulled apart because he wouldn’t adapt and he’s pissed that Albert doesn’t want to adapt.

    @BREES has a BUSH
The Pats make every player pass the conditioning test each year at the beginning of TC. There have been a few failures over the years and they very very quickly got it together and passed the test within 2 or 3 days of having failed.
Fat Albert is not just physically a disgusting pig, mentally he’s one. He played like crap last year after getting his first 10 mil payment, then took 20 mil this year knowing full well what was expected of him and decided he was just too special to have to comply with the things every other player in the league has to comply with.
Now its Snyder’s fault in part because he was stupid enough to pay this pig such a huge amount of money, and stupid enough to write the 21 mil check instead of cutting him earlier this year.
But other than that Haynesworth not only has every bit of crap that Shanny dishes out coming to him, he really deserves to get beaten to a pulp for how he’s acted the last few months.
In case you haven’t noticed, the economy is still in the toilet, millions of people are still being foreclosed on and losing jobs. Hell cities across the country are collectively about to cut half a million jobs because of budget shortfalls. And this walking piece of fecal matter thinks he can take 21 million at one shot and then not have to comply with what his employer wants ? He is a piece of filth.

This guy is in his “own” class. I would put him through the same test, he deserves it! Also, the test is not that hard. A NFL player should be able to do twice the amount that they require. If anyone has seen the guy on the field they would know he only goes 50% throughout the game so there is no wonder why he is having problems.

One Redskins defensive player said few players are capable of passing the test only Haynesworth has been required to take.
Even the Redskin officials concede that Albert is in shape and his teammates say that he’s in better shape than last year. Because he went to the bathroom on the first day, they made him start over.

  82. Orakpwnd says: Jul 30, 2010 12:57 PM

For everyone saying Shanahan is losing the team by doing this, save your breathe. The defensive leader, London Fletcher himself, called out Haynesworth just a few weeks ago for not being there with EVERYONE else. A number of other players expressed their frustrations as well.
Mike Wise from the post was on his radio show today talking about how he thought “enough was enough,” and after asking a vet, who is on the team, the player disagreed with his assessment, further supporting the coach’s decision to show Al that the team comes first.
In fact, the only player on record who is showing even the smallest level of support for Haynesworth is D. Hall, who’s not exactly the guy I want in my corner.
Haynesworth has to appreciate just how awful the team was last year to truly understand the significance of being the only 1 out of 80 to not show up for minnie camp under a new GM/head coach.

Maybe if Albert hadn’t have been such a douchebag all off-season and actually showed up when asked, he wouldn’t be having this problem.
Good on Shanny for exerting his authority. Sends a message to the players about who’s really in charge.
Curious thought- If Shanny were in Minnesota, would Favre have retired by now?

  84. saintez says: Jul 30, 2010 1:04 PM

And there wasn’t any bs from albert when he cashed that check for 21 mil, right? Can’t believe the Redskins took him, Shanahan and Fischer are buds – I know he was warned. You might get an average of 1.5 downs out of 4 played, if that. He is not worth his trouble. Glad he’s out of Tennessee!

  85. RadrHatr says: Jul 30, 2010 1:11 PM

Good for Shanny! I hated him as the Bronco’s HC, but like that he’s showing the whiner that he’s the boss!

  86. CapsLockKey says: Jul 30, 2010 1:13 PM

Well maybe if his fat ass wasn’t out of shape, he wouldn’t be “tired”.

  87. theycallme_iPod says: Jul 30, 2010 1:16 PM

As a teammate, I would get all linemen on that line and would convince them to take the test with Big Al…
Then, Shanny will see that many players can’t pass the test, and won’t make fun of Haynesworth anymore…
    Teammates gotta stick together…

  88. Moonunit says: Jul 30, 2010 1:24 PM

    More power to you Shany!!!!

  89. rmm9090 says: Jul 30, 2010 1:34 PM

Albert Haynesworth is “tired of this B.S.” ??????
That’s freakin’ hilarious, and exactly what Shanahan has been privately saying from dealing with this lazy azz drama queen.
Karma can be such a bitch, huh Fat Albert? LMFAO

  90. KC_Vols says: Jul 30, 2010 1:38 PM

Why does he have to wait until Saturday? Does Shana-tan have a tanning appointment this afternoon?

  91. MizzouRam says: Jul 30, 2010 1:43 PM

What the hell is the point of this? Its going to take weeks for Haynesworth to get into good enough shape to pass this thing.
Shany is screwing himself here. Al out of shape is still 2x better than any other DT they have on the roster.

  92. IndianScalper says: Jul 30, 2010 1:46 PM

    @ Skins1970
Do you really think the 4skins are going to be good. U have been smoking way too many funny cigs! LMAO! The skins will be in the cellar from start to finish. And by the way Romo and company are going to smoke show the Skins on opening day. Let the games begin!
    How bout them Cowboys!!!!

  98. borg says: Jul 30, 2010 2:29 PM

These fat rich skins can’t run to Fat Vinny anymore and back stab the coach. The new sherrif has let it be known, the days of DC Country Club are over.

  99. Flimflam1 says: Jul 30, 2010 2:31 PM

If he isn’t ready, he isn’t ready.
And yes, any professional football player can pass this test. 300 yds in 70 seconds… a high schooler can do that.

  102. Florida727 says: Jul 30, 2010 5:19 PM

if you can’t run 300 yards in 71 seconds, you don’t deserve to call yourself an “athlete”, let alone get paid $100 million. shut up fat boy and keep running. the head coach is in charge. starting to figure that out yet? this is why ALL contracts should be for how you perform on the field, not based on what you did last year, or the last 2 years, or whatever. pay for performance, just like every other working stiff in corporate America.

  103. bow_to_the_pats says: Jul 30, 2010 6:02 PM

    Then stop sucking, Albert.

  104. numberfour says: Jul 30, 2010 7:54 PM

i bet it takes a lot to move locker room opinion way toward albert.
i bet veteran players knew this kind of showdown was coming and told albert to just get in and take the meds and get it over with.
if yer getting paid that much (he is) and have all that much to offer (? in this case)… ya better show something. staying home + big bonus + excuses + not playing up to yer “rep” equals yer askin to be made an example of.

  105. Mangy66 says: Jul 30, 2010 8:01 PM

Didn’t any of you fools play football?
When you did something on a level MUCH LOWER than what Haynesworth did…what did your coaches make you do?
    EXTRA CONDITIONING!!!
All of us that have played have had to run that extra mile in the middle of practice for doing something the coaches didn’t like.
Hell…I didn’t fall on a fumble fast enough and I ran til I threw up.
So all the sudden he makes $100 million, and he needs to be worshiped like a God?!?!?!
He has been a detriment to this team from the front office to the field with his antics this offseason. He deserves every bit of this punishment…and more…much much more.

  106. triadskinsfan says: Jul 30, 2010 8:16 PM

What a crappy blog. Of course AH wants to play and is upset. But if you have been a true skins fan and saw the loss of respect for the past head coaches you would understand the process. And to the Cowboys Fan, hopefully we will be better than last year and give you a excellent game. Naw we are just going to kick your #@#!!!! Oh and by the way Romo sucks !!!!!

  107. agent7x6 says: Jul 30, 2010 9:00 PM

Why is this conditioning test relevant to the defensive tackle position? I would prefer to test defensive tackles (Haynesworth) on power and explosiveness, not on middle distance running endurance.

  111. Ripken09 says: Jul 31, 2010 5:03 AM

The test isn’t that hard. There’s videos of average joes completing it on YouTube with 10 to 15 seconds to spare. This shouldn’t be a problem for a pro athlete.

  112. 1nationraidernation says: Jul 31, 2010 12:30 PM

it is total b.s., and i don’t blame him for being pissed, and disrespected in the media.

  113. cruisekid says: Jul 31, 2010 11:26 PM

WOW ! Does Haynesworth still play for the Redskins. I thought the Bengal’s Andre Smith ate him.

  114. chrispacwv says: Aug 1, 2010 4:01 PM

Shanahan has won 1 playoff game in the 10 yrs….he rode the coat-tails of Elway all the way to the bank….I am not a fan of greedy players but this is a bad coaches spiteful response to being told no.

  115. misterponder says: Aug 1, 2010 4:17 PM

Shannahan is just being petty and will be out of the NFL before Haynesworth will. He’s got a little man’s complex. His behavior is doing nothing for the team’s continuity. The little big man is so insecure that he just has to show everyone who’s boss. Bill Belicheck would never do this to Vince Wolfolk who weighs twice as much as Haynesworth does, and is just as temperamental. Why don’t some of you jealous arm-chair idiots call him fat boy ? You guys are just jealous because your sorry behinds have to go in and punch the clocks on your lousy 9 to fives.

I remember the Steelers DT Casey Hampton showed up out of shape and Florio tried to make a big buzz about it. It died out quickly though and, as far as I know, Hampton had a fine year. Of course Tomlin doesn’t seem to be as vindictive as Shanahan, so maybe this gets dragged out a little longer.

  118. rlb says: Aug 2, 2010 2:58 PM

    U R a Jack- Ass Albert.

  119. jayson44 says: Aug 2, 2010 4:50 PM

First of all I was pissed at Albert requesting a trade and blowing off OTAs but back to reality is that we are a better team with him and he showed that he was ready to come back. I think this is illegal and immoral to make him pass a test that none of his teammates had to take and pass. For instance Kemo was injured and has not taken the same test to make sure he is in shape but double standard here. I am not picking at Kemo here but look at it without thinking about the negative from missing OTA (voluntary). Shananah please grow up and let him play football because playing and hustling on the field will keep him in football shape not running sprints. He will do enough sprints by getting rough with the other players.

  120. seals says: Aug 2, 2010 5:40 PM

well, i guess you catch more flies with being an errogant a-hole. It was almost like albert decided he wanted to play only reconsider putting the black Jack dealer back on his head. Just trade him already.

  121. smithopher says: Aug 2, 2010 7:22 PM

This is hilarious. Isn’t this the guy who was the biggest ass in the NFL a few months ago? Now, he’s trying to play victim and tear up the locker room. Enough money wasted. Cut the bastard.

  122. Connie says: Aug 3, 2010 11:04 AM

I would probably say Shanahan was being unreasonable except for the fact that Haynesworth cashed a $21 million dollar check when he knew he had no intention of showing up to OTA’s (voluntary or involuntary).
