Jared Gaither carted off the field

The bad times continue at Ravens camp.

Ravens tackle Jared Gaither was carted off the field Friday afternoon with an apparent back injury, according to the Baltimore Sun.  Rumored to be on the trading block all offseason, Gaither split work on Friday at right and left tackle.

Gaither missed much of the offseason with a toe injury.  We’ll let you know if the back injury proves serious, further screwing up the PFT Magazine predictions by Florio and Silva, who both picked the Ravens to make the Super Bowl.

Baltimore lost cornerback Domonique Foxworth earlier Friday for the season to a ACL tear.

UPDATE: False alarm: Gaither only had cramps.  This is why we don’t post injury updates from camp if possible unless there’s a cart involved.  And even a cart doesn’t guarantee much.

Oh what a beautiful thing to see the pendulum swing on another AFC North team!
The Browns been going through the pre-season injury bug for 9 years strong, about time one of these other jokers feel the pain for once!
Then its the Ravens too! Oh karma can be sooooooo sweet sometime!

I love all of the smack talk from people saying ‘oh yea, Ravens are falling how are they gonna win the SB now?’ considering it’s the same people who said we have no DB’s and Foxworth is not good…
Gaither was all but traded away bc we feel we have a comprable back up, and Fox is a non issue now that Washington is back on the field.
If you people really think that losing Fox and MAYBE Gaither will change our chances at winning the SB, you smoke crack.

Good now the Brownies might be more challenging for the rest of the AFC North.

Good luck stopping teams from passing on you overrated jokes.

You telling me Washington is a better corner then Foxworth? He was traded from Oakland for a reason so it is a issue.Foxworth cashed in for a weak season in Atl but is the best corner the Ravens have. And his contract is a hometown discount…28mil.

  27. 7370355q$ says: Jul 30, 2010 6:23 PM

    @Raven410
That would be awesome but i doubt that the ravens would take on one of the worst contracts if not the worst in the entire nfl, but i would like to see it in this uncapped year.

  28. CincyAllDaWay says: Jul 30, 2010 6:33 PM

Yeah…my wife says those menstrual cramps are a real bitch. The shit birds are soft! If you guys don’t man up soon your not gonna make it out of camp! Give him some Midol or Pamprin and tell him to get his fat ass back on the field.

  29. funi says: Jul 30, 2010 6:42 PM

Boldin’s due to get hurt shortly..
Ray Lewis due to kill someone and won’t be suspended..
    Flacco about to tear ACL
McGahee about to lose a tooth.. oh wait that did happen!

  30. SeriousRadio says: Jul 30, 2010 6:55 PM

One thing is for sure. If any other journalist gets a tip from PFT or any of its staff, they don’t attribute it to “an informed source”. They just mention a rumor they heard.

I didn’t realize that our 8th ranked secondary, which was without Reed for a while last season, was so bad that even the browns will put up 400 yards on us thru the air.
Get real people. Quit trying to invent weaknesses on the Ravens. We have a good pass rush good DC and the best front 7 in football. Our D is fine. I mean your QB has to be on his feet to complete a pass after all lol.

  32. steeelfann says: Jul 30, 2010 9:04 PM

Baltimore will be lucky to make the playoffs. Cinci will be back, adding Bryant and Owens out wide and Pittsburgh should have Aaron Smith and Polamalu back. Roethlisberger will be back by game 5. They added Adams at Tackle and Pouncey at guard.
I go against you guys and say that Baltimore will be looking from the outside this year. Flacco is way overrated by the media (look at his stats, really). Stallworth has never done much. Bolden is tough. Won’t be enough. Ray Lewis long in the tooth. Ed Reed is their best player and will miss too many games, too injury prone. Baltimore will be about 9-7 and miss the playoffs. Maybe 8-8.
    San Diego
    Cinci
    Pitt
    Jets
    New England

I love all the Ravens haters on here bashing our Super Bowl hopes. Okay, Foxworth is out for the year. Fabian Washington is back in practice, and Lardarius Webb is returning in 2 to 3 weeks. Really, get over yourselves. Baltimore still has Chris Carr, Travis Fisher, and Walt Harris in the depth chart, and we will likely add a free agent vet like Ken Lucas or Fred Smoot. IF you read the update, Gaither had CRAMPS. Ed Reed will likely miss a game or two, but we have former Pro Bowl safety Ken Hamlin backing him up, as well as Tom Zbikowski. Also, Suggs has lost 20 pounds this offseason, and is back to Pro Bowl form. I’m really not worried, and neither should any Baltimore fan be worried. Lets go Ravens!!!

I jut love all these browns and steelers fans that come on here and just talk trash about every aspect of the ravens but it’s just funny how many talk about the secondary but don’t do they’re homework yea u all say that our secondary was terrible last year and all that and yea the beginning of te season they didn’t play too hot and we don’t have revis and asmogua back there but guys the ravens were ranked 8th in pass defense last year so were do fans of the browns have the right to talk what were u guys like 20th? And the steelers pass rush has saved that secondary life for the past 4 years if it wasn’t for polomalu the steelers would probably be ranked 31st in pass defense every year
