Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson was injured on the training camp practice field Saturday afternoon, and had to be taken away on a cart. Though the extent of the injury is unknown, McLane’s tweets indicate that Jackson may have injured his back.
After being examined by trainers on the ground, Jackson was able to get to his feet and limp “gingerly” to the cart.
Little else is known about the injury at this time. We’ll keep you updated.
UPDATE: The team confirmed Jackson has a back injury. He’s still being evaluated.
UPDATE II: Adam Schefter of ESPN and Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer both have sources saying the injury isn’t serious. McLane writes that “DeSean walked out of the locker room on his own, got into his car and sped away without comment.”
