Deuce Lutui passes test, compares himself to Brett Favre and Lindsey Lohan

You can no longer call him “Double Deuce” Lutui.

Reported to be near 400 pounds in the offseason, the Cardinals guard passed his conditioning test to open training camp on Saturday. He admitted, however, that he’s only down to 360 pounds. The Cardinals want him in the 340-pound range.

After passing the test, Lutui compared himself to a couple of interesting headline makers.

“That’s my mission. Deuce Lutui is here to get with the fellas and knock some heads around. It’s something I have been missing. I feel I have had a Brett Favre offseason and I want to come out and showcase my athleticism,” Lutui said via the team’s website, confident enough to go third person on day one of camp.

(Hmm . . . the Brett Favre offseason plan. Not recommended by 5 out of 5 NFL trainers.)

Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt chastised Lutui publicly this offseason, but Lutui feels he’s been unfairly targeted this offseason.

“There are some rumors going around [that I weighed] 396, and I have said before I am the Lindsay Lohan of the offensive line, get bad media coverage. But that’s how it goes,” Lutui said.
