Bigby claims that he reported for camp in shape and with no ankle problems. The team, per Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, is attempting to determine the specific injury Bigby has suffered.
“It wasn’t an issue, not what it is now,” Bigby said. “But I worked out in the offseason, I got in shape, I came back in shape so, no, it wasn’t something that bothered me in the offseason. So I think it’s one of those, it just flared up. . . . I guess twisted it a certain way that it shouldn’t have been twisted.”
Bigby recently signed a one-year, $1.759 million tender offer. He is hoping for a long-term contract. But this definitely isn’t the way to get one.
