Broncos backfield has a morning to forget

Knownshon Moreno threw his gloves off, unhappy that his first practice at Broncos training camp was going to end so quickly.

Multiple reports in Denver indicate Moreno was carted off the field Sunday morning and couldn’t put any weight on his right leg.  As we saw yesterday, the presence of a cart doesn’t mean a serious injury.  So we’ll have to wait and see what tests reveal.

Veteran backup Correll Buckhalter also injured his left leg and limped off the practice field under his own power.  Coach Josh McDaniels says there is no diagnosis or a timetable to return to the field for either player.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Philadelphia, J.J. Arrington is thinking he could have been a contender.

UPDATE: Jason La Canfora hears Buckhalter’s injury is minor.

  1. I hope Buck’s injury isn’t serious. Always liked watching him in Philly after coming back from 3 major knee injuries.

  2. it’s the Broncos, nobody cares.
McDaniels is in over his head. His decisions have been mind numbing to put it mildly.
The Broncos will go 5-11 and occupy last place in the AFC West.
Moreno, Royal, and Tebow are their picks for the 3 skilled positions in which you need stars. All three of these guys are overrated and will not produce star numbers.

  3. Newly acquired 5-11, 260 pound linebacker Joe Mays suddenly found himself working with the running backs this afternoon.

  4. Adam Schefter’s Twitter page says that the Denver Post is reporting Moreno has a torn right hamstring. Sounds like he could miss significant time.

Just my opinion (which doesn’t matter), but methinks yr an ass. What with all the absolutes and whatnot you throw out about things you can’t possibly know. If you don’t care, then why are you posting? I bet you hear this a lot (at yr job, parties, etc), but STFU.

  6. Moreno had a solid rookie season (1160 total yards) for a bad offense, and I must say I only thought he would get better this season. I love how people say he was overrated, 1160 total yards for a rookie is very good. That sucks for him, at least if what there saying is true its not his knee or ankle.
