Broncos fear Knowshon Moreno tore hamstring

The cart rides for DeSean Jackson and Percy Harvin on Saturday turned out to be false alarms, but it looks like Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno suffered a serious injury.

The Denver Post and NFL Network report that the Broncos fear Moreno tore his hamstring, which usually means he tore his hamstring. (Otherwise, they’d say it was minor.) Either way, Mike Klis calls it a “severe hamstring injury.”

That’s the bad news.

The good news from the Broncos perspective is that he didn’t tear any knee ligaments, which seemed like a possibility because onlookers heard a “pop.”

Moreno still has six weeks to get healthy, but a torn hamstring could jeopardize his availability for the season opener.

Correll Buckhalter, also hurt Sunday, is reported to have an upper back pull.

(On a positive note, Broncos fans: Everyone enjoyed Tim Tebow’s first real practice.)
