AFC North training camp one-liners

The Ravens don’t know what’s wrong with OT Jared Gaither, who has lost 29 pounds without trying.

The Ravens are still talking to veteran CB Frank Walker; CB Shawn Springs is a possibility, too.

Though CB Rod Woodson once returned from a torn ACL suffered in Week 1 to play in the Super Bowl, the Ravens won’t be holding a roster spot for CB Domonique Foxworth after he suffered the same injury; Foxworth has been placed on IR.

Foxworth’s roster spot was filled by rookie OT Devin Tyler, who played college football at Temple.

Ravens CB Fabian Washington has taken off his no-contact jersey, which for some reason has the name “Sanders” on the back of it.

On the Bengals’ first official depth chart, Antonio Bryant is ahead of Terrell Owens.  [Editor's note:  T.O. likely will find a way to blame it on Tony Romo and Jason Witten.  And the media.]

T.O. doesn’t care if he doesn’t make it into the Hall of Fame.  [Editor's note:  If he doesn't, he likely will find a way to blame it on Tony Romo and Jason Witten.  And the media.]

Rookie Jermaine Gresham is listed as the starting tight end, even though he still hasn’t signed his first contract and hasn’t played in a real game for more than 18 months.

Andre Smith is second on the depth chart at right tackle.

The Bengals are experimenting with some 3-4 packages, with LB Rey Maualuga shifting inside next to Dhani Jones.

Sunday’s red zone drill resulted in two touchdowns and two interceptions for the Bengals’ starting offense.

Former Steelers center Dermontti Dawson is working as a coaching intern with the Bengals; he’s helping Andre Smith as he continues to rehab a bad foot.

Browns CB Eric Wright could slide inside and cover the slot receiver in nickel situations.

Browns RB Peyton Hillis is taking full advantage of rookie Montario Hardesty’s absence.

The Browns have a bunch of linebackers.

Rookie CB Joe Haden has taken his talents to the second team.

RB Jerome Harrison is confused by the notion that smaller running backs get hurt too easily:  “I don’t know what the hell it means.  When big running backs get hurt,
it’s OK.  It’s fine.  But when a little running back gets hurt, he’s
injury prone.  You just laugh at stuff like that because it really
doesn’t make any sense.”

Steelers DE Aaron Smith thinks Ziggy Hood is going to be “something special.”

The best news for the Steelers could be that S Troy Polamalu has fully participated in every practice so far.

Steelers LB LaMarr Woodley is enduring some jokes due to his financial predicament.

Rookie LB Jason Worilds was unblockable in a Steelers “backs on ‘backers” drill.

A few years ago David Garrard experienced weight loss not knowing why, and it turned out he had Crohn’s Disease. Hopefully they’re checking Gaither for that.

This is Florio milking the whole ‘one liners’ concept by having multiple entries per team. None of them important because they come from beat writers who dispense daily trivia from respective camps. Readers would be better off following their favorite teams on their own websites.

the bengals already changed the depth-chart and took gresham off the first team! i got the update when i followed the link above. maybe marvin realized how crazy “even though he still hasn’t signed his first contract and hasn’t played in a real game for more than 18 months” sounds.

That doesn’t sound good at all. Hope he gets checked soon. There are several things that can cause unexplained weight loss, not many are good.

Gaither is practicing this morning. These ‘one-liners’ are old. They are just links to news stories that are basically archived on certain team’s local media websites.

I know where those 29 pounds went… Andre Smith found found them.

Must not say much for Chase Coffman if he ‘s behind an unsigned rookie that’s coming off an injury that kept him out of football for a year and a half.
By the way, how is a rookie ever penciled in as a starter before they even get to camp?
Silly Bengals. Once again demonstrating why they don’t have a seat at the grown-ups table.

Since Gaither did his own thing for workouts instead of regularly working out with the team, let’s hope he tried some crazy diet he’s not mentioning. Otherwise, it’s real cause for concern when a seemingly healthy athlete mysteriously drops 29 pounds while also experiencing an increase in nagging injuries–particularly the back problem. My prayers that the doctors quickly pinpoint the cause and it turns out to be something easily treatable.
Polamalu not missing a practice is the BEST news I’ve heard in our off-season.

@Laxer37, this shows the lack of talent/ luck that the Bengals have had at the position. No doubt Reggie Kelly would be the starter if he was not out all of last year with his injury. Why is it wrong to have a rookie penciled in as the starter before camp begins? Last time I checked, one call to the media department gets it changed. Regardless of where they start camp, most first rounders are in the starting lineup come Week 1 anyway.
Silly Steelers fans, always thinking they are better than everyone one else without a lick of intellect to back up their moronic one liners.
