Alualu deal is finally done

Last night, a strange situation developed. The Jaguars insisted that defensive tackle Tyson Alualu, the 10th overall pick in the draft, had agreed to terms. Alualu’s agent, Kenny Zuckerman, insisted that no agreement had been reached.

Though Zuckerman provided no on-the-record update in the wake of Alualu’s desire to sleep on the Jags’ latest offer, Jags owner Wayne Weaver chimed in on Monday, claiming that Alualu has indeed agreed to terms and that he’ll be flying from Hawaii to Jacksonville, arriving in town on Tuesday.

FOX’s Jay Glazer now reports via Twitter that Alualu has indeed accepted the offer after discussing the situation with his family and sleeping on it.

We’ve confirmed that, indeed, the deal is done. (That said, we nearly risked being choked out by Glazer; a source with knowledge of the negotiations was insisting that Glazer’s report was wrong, before getting the updated information that the deal was finished “a few minutes ago.”)
