Uneasiness in Vikings camp over Favre’s future

Though pretty much everyone inside and outside of the Vikings’ organization believes that quarterback Brett Favre will return for another season at the age of 40 going on 41, we’re hearing that Favre’s status is creating some uneasiness at training camp.

Last year, the official word in the early days of two-a-days was that Favre wasn’t playing again. Though coach Brad Childress apparently knew otherwise, he apparently kept it mainly to himself.

This year, the presumption is that Favre will come. Until he does, however, anything can happen. And that’s making folks inside the building anxious to get the issue resolved and move on, one way or the other.

Meanwhile, Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune has advised us that Favre technically is a holdout. Under contract for 2010, Favre was placed on the reserve/did not report list, in order to allow his roster spot to be used on another player.

Maybe he’s simply hoping for more money. After all, it’s an uncapped year.
