Jeremy Maclin carted off, ending Eagles practice early

Over the weekend, Eagles wideout DeSean Jackson was carted off during practice.  He ended up being fine.

On Tuesday, Eagles wideout Jeremy Maclin was carted off.  His injury ended practice early.

Said receiver Hank Baskett of the situation, per Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer:  “It killed the mood.”

Maclin reportedly needed assistance walking from the cart to the locker room.

So stay tuned.

UPDATE: The Eagles are initially calling Maclin’s injury a hyperextended knee.

Sort of like when Baskett fumbled the 2nf half kickoff in the SB.

  2. These guys can’t get through one practice without someone being carted off. Its getting ridiculous already.

  3. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! He’s on my fantasy team!!!
Its called that, because its a fantasy that the Beagles will be good this year.
    BRAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!!

Also killing the mood was Andy Reid coaching this afternoon in a thong.”
    Wow. Awesome.

  5. Wasn’t jamal Jackson diagnosed initially with a hyperextension before they said he tore his acl?

  6. What Hank Baskett said:
    “It killed the mood”
    What Hank Baskett was thinking:
“anndd……..up the depth chart I go!”

  7. Ain’t karma a bitch???
Guess all you eegle fans that ran your mouths about Dez’s ankle are getting it returned right now, huh???
    First DeShawna and now this.
    Gotta love it!!!!!!!!!!
PS – I’m not happy anyone is hurt, just knew it would come back around to bite ya when y’all were crowning yourselves the NFC East Champs when Dez got hurt.
Should have kept your mouths shut….

  8. Hyper-extending a knee is another way of saying you possibly damaged your ACL. I would take a month off, at the minimum, after this.

  9. why are u guys so worried…this is training camp not even close to the regular season yet

  10. Uhhh, what? Eagles are calling it a “hyperextended knee”? A hyperextended knee is not an injury. One can hyperextend a knee without hurting it or completely screw it so badly that the leg needs to be amputated… this tells us nothing.

  11. Don’t get to excited Puke fans, just a hyper extension. Puke fans are the only group in the league that wishes injuries on players. I guess they feel it’s their only shot to win.

  12. from the twitter feed
“Maclin walked out of locker room on his own with sleeve over left leg. He said his foot got caught in the ground.”
    doesn’t sound too serious.

  13. I’d like to rail on the ignorant Cowgirl fans who applaud these injuries, but we had some ignorant fans who were doing the same when Dez went down.
My wish is simple, no one gets hurt and we get the opportunity to play Dallas with both squads at 100%.

  14. Hey Florio, ur weak attempt at attention is really getting to me. The Eagles were already ending practice before this injury……they were doing their last set of workouts when Maclin went down.
I love how you made it seem like the injury was so bad it just ended the Eagles practice in the middle of it. Clown.

  16. All of the attempted jokes in this articles are 100% embarrassing. The dude who made the comment about Reid in a thong, did you really think that was a hilarious joke when you wrote it????? It wasn’t even remotely funny, and a few of you giant nerds complemented him on how funny that joke was. I feel sorry for some of you people how have a pathetic sense of humor. WTF to the guy who said he “LOLed at work” at that joke?????!!?? You’re a MORON!

  17. Eagles need to start red shirting are 180 pound receivers. Whats tackling them every practice going to prove? They dont need practice on how to get tackled.
If our defense needs tackling practice let them tackle the back ups. Its just stupid.

If you’ll go back to that article, you’ll notice most of the people cheering that injury were Redskins fans. And that’s not surprising, because they have nothing on their own team to cheer about. I’m never happy about an injury, whether on the Eagles or otherwise.
    Stay classy.

  19. “Might wanna get a new strength & conditioning coach, 0-3gles.”
They did! and a new special teams coach, and some new trainers, and a new GM, and a new DB coach, and new scouts, and a new RB, and a new QB.
Guess there’s only only one thing left that’s old, tired, and sucks….hhhhhhmmmmm??????????

LOL – Bet Florio is extremely concerned…

  21. I just read that Maclin said he should be alright. Philly has an intrasquad scrimmage on thursday so Im hoping Desean and Maclin should both sit out as a precaution. I remember Stewart Bradley tore his ACL during last years event.

  22. @ Route36West
Today was only thud drills from what I understand, which means no tackling. Also Maclin said his foot got stuck in the turf so I think the injury wasn’t caused by contact from another player. I could be wrong, but I think the Eagles go live every other day, not everyday.

  23. Don’t worry Eagles fans…… Yall signed the great Kelley Washington! You can sleep good tonight!

  24. Maclin: ‘Should Be All Right’
Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin was carted off the field this afternoon, adding to a long line of injured Eagles players.
Maclin limped into the building to be examined. The team said he had a hyperextended left knee and was still being evaluated. The Eagles said a further update would be available tomorrow.
Later, Maclin left the fieldhouse saying he felt relieved.
“Hyperextended my knee a little bit,” he said. “Should be all right, though.”
Asked for a timetable, he said: “We’ll see. Should be all right, though.”
“It is (a relief),” he said, when prompted. “Nobody wants to experience anything that’s season-ending or anything like that”
“I just kinda got stuck in the ground, man, my leg just kinda buckled on me a little bit.”
Maclin had spoken to reporters about being sore after morning session.
The team cut short its practice following the injury.

  25. 1- Behind enemy lines: Aren’t you doing the same thing now by talking about Maclin’s injury? How you Cowboy fans are even allowed to speak after your tough guy linebacker cried about the score being ran up in the playoffs last year amazes me. Go back in your hole cockroach!
2-Who the F picks a fantasy team this early. I know that this type of shit was made for accountants and homo’s who could care less about football to get involved, but now the local special needs shelters are in. Wow, sign me up for that league. I think that Warren from ” There’s something about Mary” won last year.

  26. comcast reported that it was a bruised bone. it came up on the scroll during the Phils game, so thats all that was said
