Hey remember last week when his teammates said he had texted his retirement to them only he denied it a few days later? How can the media be so wrong, so often, for one player – especially with as much love as the media has given Favre?

That’s fine. As a celebrity, Favre will have to prove that Deadspin knew the information was false and acted in disregard of the truth of the information (actual malice). All deadspin will need to do is provide the e-mails from Sterger. If he sues Sterger, all she will need to do is provide the photos. If you read the teaser story on Deadspin, her e-mails make it sound like he’s done this before with other girls. If he sues, he could be opening a can of worms.
As much as everyone in Wisconsin loved Favre, there have been stories and rumors about his womanizing since he arrived. I’m sure some of them are just rumors, but as they say, where there’s smoke there’s fire, and Favre created a lot of smoke from 1992 up through his departure.

I think you summed it up well enough. And now another chick claims she viewed the offending member and crocs and also heard the voicemail from Favre, but it’s not getting much play in the media. It’s been on deadspin, PFT, huffington post and CBS. That’s it. And I imagine that’s the way it’s going to stay until the picture(s) come out.
No surprise there’s been no response from Favre on it, though. I’m sure he’s hoping it goes away.

No one get confused and think I am implying in ANY way that these “allegations” are true) Brett did indeed send unwanted (that part is important, and makes a huge difference) pictures of himself to another woman, I would say he is worse than Ben. I understand that what Ben was “accused” of is a worse crime than what Brett “allegedly” did. But the circumstances are also very different. Brett is married. Brett has kids. Brett plays off his character as “Mr. All America, manly man, wrangler, maverick, tough guy QB.” There is nothing wrong with that, up until the last few seasons it has made him beloved, and still remains to make him popular. But that image, like Tiger Woods’ (I am talking about image, not comparing alleged bad deeds) comes with the risk that if you do get caught doing something like this, people tend to get very upset. I think it is safe to say if there is ANY truth to this, the Favre saga coverage will be getting a lot worse, and it certainly won’t be as cute as his “retirement” woes.

Personally, I don’t give a crap. What’s somewhat surprising is that we now have someone who’s backing up the initial story.
Legally, I don’t think it makes a bit of difference. Where it could bite Favre is if Deanna picks up on it..
