Kubiak on Schobel: "He's a heck of a player"

The Texans can have defensive end Aaron Schobel if they want him.

A few days back, Schobel told the Houston Chronicle, “If I were a free agent and I could choose a team, it would be the
, without a doubt,” Schobel said.

He’s a free agent now, after the Bills officially released him Wednesday afternoon.  Coach Gary Kubiak admitted some level of interest.

“He’s a heck of a player,” said Kubiak.  “We’ll do our homework, just like every other team.”

The Texans are fairly well stocked at defensive end, but every team could use an extra pass rusher.  Schobel passed up $8 million from the Bills and surely won’t approach that sort of money with any team he chooses.

    What a rotation:
    Mario, Smith, Barwin, and Schobel.
WOW!!!!! That will definitely help any secondary.

Schobel is extremely underrated and is the consummate professional on and off the field. Belichick has always been impressed by his performance and his work ethic. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Pats sign him now that Burgess is contemplating retirement.
