When will you guys realize that a good deal of us have already accepted Favre for what he is? Yeah, so he waffles on his retirement… so what? When he hits the field, he’s still a tremendous player. I’m willing to go through this thing every damn preseason if it means a HOF QB takes the field on opening day, it’s not as big of a deal as most of you (and the media) are making it out to be.

Huh? As noted earlier, they finished the year 7-1. Their O-Line, last year’s big weakness, is now intact. And AZ was not an average offense.
The reason there is so much focus on Favre is he went from a beloved figure, to a bitter, dishonest, petty man. Look at the immature, despicable way he is now handling his “contract negotiations”. You may not get it, but most sports fans don’t care for a$$holes.

No doubt he’s been one of the GREATEST QB’s EVER….and he’s the type of guy who will always have a few bullets left in His Gun, but..
‘There’s Life After Football’, and He needs to get on with it and ‘Live It’. I celebrate your career.
‘Brett, come back if you will’, but mark my words, it will ‘come at a price’, (maybe) much more than what they’re willing to pay you, and you will probably take a physical beating. After all you have given, I’d hate to see you go out that way.
Anything less than a Super Bowl win, and you’ll probably regret putting another year in.

We’re rubbing your noses in it. Whether Favre plays in 2010 or not doesn’t matter. We were proven right on all those things.
Sure, it sucks that the Vikings swept the Packers. But it was hilarious to see him get beaten up and then throw that ill-advised pass at the end of the game. And it was pretty fun to watch his play deteriorate at the end of the season, right on schedule.

Don’t you find it a bit odd that Favre, Bus Cook, or even Brad Childress has yet to confirm this “retirement”? Has it occurred to you that this story is a fabrication designed to not only get morons like you to give hundreds of site clicks, but to also give morons, like you, false hope of a possible division championship?
Fools like you also warned us that Favre would throw 20 picks, his arm would fall off, he wouldn’t last the season without getting hurt, he would quit mid season, and that he would lead the Vikings to a 6-10 record with the Packers winning it all last year. You didn’t know anything, you just spouted off a bunch of stupidity, and hoped and prayed you were right. And you weren’t, about anything.
You see, unlike the fumble-punt, Favre’s pick led to nothing but overtime. He didn’t lose the game like Rodgers did, he just didn’t win it. I can see why you liked Souhan’s article so much, he’s as big of a schmuck as you are.

Maybe instead of whining and complaining about a guy who hasn’t played on your team in 2 years (but has managed to soundly destroy them twice), you should focus on coming up with excuses for your Preseason Champion Packers missing the playoffs because their brilliant GM decided not to address the holes in a defense that gave up 51 points in a playoff game to an average offense.
I can see why you focus on Favre so much, because stopping and thinking about the true state of the Packers has got to be depressing.

This isn’t about the money, the Vikings are just trying to entice him. I highly doubt an extra 3 million is going to bring him closer to coming back. Brett is 40 years old and had major surgery on his ankle, he is the only one who knows if he can go through a full season and the playoffs at full speed. Brett is not going to make a fool out of himself coming back if he isn’t healthy.
The Vikings and the league know hundreds of millions of dollars are at stake from a business perspective. Brett is pure gold when it comes to merchandising and marketing in the NFL. Brett pretty much can write his own paycheck if he wanted too.

I really don’t understand your insistence that the Pack are in bad shape. They finished the year 7-1 and still have one of the younger rosters in the league. Their QB isn’t 40. They figure to be at the top of the NFC North for a long time. The Queens were fortunate to play GB early last year, when their O-line was in shambles. I don’t think you will be as fortunate this year.

Let’s get this one thing clear. Favre is a dishonest pr!ck. This latest retirement charade was not a rumor. This was a carefully calculated move by Favre to tell the Vikings 1) back off, and 2) give me more money. The classy way to go about it would have been to simply call Ziggy up and negotiate your contract, but that is not how he works. He needs the attention, he needs the constant coverage on ESPN.
There is a good reason many Packer fans now hate him. The guy is a liar, and only cares about himself.
