Bigby’s tender was reduced

Packers safety Atari Bigby’s absence from offseason activities cost him some money.

In June, Florio wrote that the team notified Bigby that his restricted free agent tender would be reduced if he didn’t show up for work. Bigby was set to earn $1.759 million in base salary this year, but Brian McIntyre of CheeseheadTV notes that NFLPA records show Bigby is now slated to make “only” $1.6995 million. The Packers followed through on their promise.

We’ve confirmed Bigby’s haircut, which amounts to $59,500 in lost wages. Bigby’s absence cost him money, and probably playing time as he competes with rookie Morgan Burnett for a starting gig.

Bigby remains on the team’s active/PUP list because of an ankle injury.
