A few comments on the comments I read above.
Yes I was sick of hearing how the Saints rebuilt the city. Sure, it was great to see that Monday game when the Saints beat the Falcons. That was an amazing moment in sports. I didn’t need to hear about it during the pre-game, in-game, and post-game. Due the fact that they mentioned it so many times, you do have to wonder if the NFL urged the refs to call or not call the penalties they did.
Second, The Vikings did come close, but they lost. It’s something that has happened before to them and it will happen again. Turnovers killed the Vikings.
Third, when watching NFL Replay the other week and Mike Pereira has to explain almost every play in the 4th quarter, it gets ridiculous. In a game of that caliber you have that many explanations about how the Saints won the game, you have to wonder again why those calls were made/not-made.

purplepride5150, are you seriously that dumb? The league files a report after every game and notes the calls they got wrong. In the NFCCG there were 4 calls that were incorrect according the what I read on this website from Viking fans. None of those calls happened in OT. All of your what if scenarios are great but not realistic.

turnovers are a part of the game? really? thanks for the heads up….I knew some dumb ass would feel the need to point the obvious out…but lets just say this…you better hope you get five more if you want any chance in the opener….another 12 men in the huddle penalty at the end of regulation will be needed too, throw in an overtime drive where your team actually makes only one play for 10 yards yet still finds itself in field goal range..i hope someone thanked the officials…but then again perhaps that might be just a little too much to ask after all the good fortune the Aints rec’d last season.
btw, reading williams comments reminds me why he isn’t a head coach..usually coaches have to worry about their players saying stupid shit…unfortunately for the Saints they have to worry about their defensive coordinator…somebody tell me he was at least drunk we he opened his yap.
The funniest part about the whole thing is that run defense is soft as a babies bottom…comical.

Saints had the #1 offense, the #1 quarterback, the #4 O-Line, the #6 rushing offense, #3 in turnovers created, won 13 games in a freaking ROW, and during the playoffs Brees threw 8 touchdowns, ZERO picks. It takes a lot more than LUCK to accomplish all of that.
And for the illiterate comment: Sando, you seem to be full of a lot of hate for a team and a city based on football. It’s too bad, you should really think about if it’s worth it to be so hateful over a GAME.

I wish Vikings fans would admit as much —- you are biased, there is no way around it. I fully believe Pierre Thomas did NOT fumble because he kept control of the ball. The booth review did not see a reason to overturn the call – and not because they wanted the Saints to win, as you and your friends so lamely complain. You are biased and will believe that it is soooo clear what really happened, but you are biased, plain and simple. You can’t look at it without your purple-rose-colored-glasses.

Some common sense, thanks. Saints were better in turnover ratio, return yardage/special teams, and red zone efficiency. Those things matter just as much as yards gained. Especially when you gain a bunch of yards then fumble the ball.
