The Jets had the easiest playoffs of any team. It’s easy to play lose and fast when you have nothing to lose. They weren’t supposed to be there, they weren’t supposed to win.
Teams that play at home in the first two rounds usually come out tight and either win because they are just better or lose because they played it too close to the vest or played with far too many errors. Alot of teams would love to be 9-7 and go into a division champs building. If they lose they are supposed to lose.

I love Rex Ryan’s confidence and I find his candor quite a refreshing change from the usual boring comments that we hear from coaches. His players love playing for him and I love the excitement that he brings to the game. Ryan believes in his team so much so that he puts it out there. I commend Rex Ryan for putting the belief in his team and in the fans that the Jets have what it takes to go all the way.

Scared? Jealous? That’s hilarious. Will it be a good matchup? Yes. And there are a couple of Pats fans posting on here, as well as a lot of other teams’ fans. When a loud mouth coach makes comments like Rexy does, it attracts hits so PFT wins and that’s what it’s all about. Do we find the jests funny? Heck yeah. Making all their statements and not having won anything yet.
I think all coaches have the same attitude, just keep it within the walls of their own team so if/when they come tumbling down they won’t be the laughing stocks of the league.

So nothing has changed….the Dolphin fans troll Jets posts and start mocking the team, then the Jets fans get riled up and defensive and start posting, then the Dolphins fans call the Jets fans idiots, loud mouths, and other brilliant observations, such as “you backed into the playoffs”, and “your coach is fat”. Seriously???
To those of us who aren’t fans of either team, Dolphins fans appear a little scared, maybe even a little jealous, and Jets fans need to stop taking the bait they are throwing out there. It’s getting old. Patriots are in the same division and they aren’t posting mindless crap. Why? Probably because the Jets don’t scare them, and they’re not jealous.
That being said, Rex Ryan is great! His a*s kicking, “we’re #1″ attitude makes for great football, and I wish more coaches had his spirit, rather than resembling robots in pressers and on the sidelines. He’s great to watch!! His team believes in him! And I can’t wait for Hard Knocks!
Okay, cue the now-even-more defensive Dolphins fans in 5…4…3….

I hate trash talkers. Always have, always will. The Jets have a lot of talent on their roster, but it’s overshadowed by a loudmouth who thinks he’s Tony Robbins. Half of the stuff he says is fine, and just gets blown out of proportion because the media isn’t used to coaches simply being candid. Half of it is just plain ridiculous, though, and he doesn’t know how to reign in the ridiculous. I won’t be surprised if the Jets go 7-9 and miss the playoffs. I won’t be surprised if they go 11-5 with a deep playoff run. That’s the beauty of the NFL. It’s unpredictable.

j-wil – yes every team should enter the season with this mindset, IN PRACTICE! they do go running their jaws to the media about how they’re the best ever and going all the way. they may say things like “we think this is going to be a good year for us” or “keep an eye on us this year”. They don’t come out and say “we are going to be champs and empty all the buffets out of the NY area”. Wait, I added that last part myself. Rex is only setting him self up for unemployment.
