C.J. Spiller agrees to terms with the Bills

C.J. Spiller.jpgCongratulations to everyone out there that took Russell Okung in their office pool as the last remaining first-round rookie holdout.

For the last week, Bills running back C.J. Spiller looked like the odds-on favorite to be the longest holdout.  But Tim Graham of ESPN reports Spiller agreed to terms a five-year, $25 million contract with $20.5 million guarantees.  Spiller can earn a maximum of $37.5 million.  (If he starts producing like O.J. Simpson.)

Spiller missed a week of training camp, but he should have time to catch up.  Running back is one of the easiest positions for rookies to pick up and Fred Jackson figures to be the team’s starter no matter what Spiller does over the next month.

How many people does he have to kill to be seen as “producing like OJ Simpson”

He has an incentive clause in his contract which pays an additional $2.0 mil bonus for each person he murders, and $500k for every movie in which he embarrasses himself.

If Spiller stays healthy watch out. Of course, he’ll probably demand a trade out of BUF within 2 years.

Maybe you’ll get traded in a few years!!

Welcome to Buffalo CJ! I hope you have a long and very productive career here in the B-lo. Make Gailey and Nixes decision to take you over all of those QB’s, OL and DT’s a good one. Go Bills!

The clock is ticking on Okung vs Kindle.
Funny, wasn’t Eugene Parker going to be the problem? BTW, for all you Parker haters, that Crabtree holdout was in sum total, a longer holdout than if you combined all his other first round clients. A holdout is 1 day to 1 million years and it takes 1 or 2 days for a team to realize that he’s serious. His longest holdout this year was less than a week. Get a grip on reality.

He had to change his perception or risk losing clients.
He became a household name for the wrong reasons.

When it is all said and done, CJ Spiller will be the best player drafted in the class of 2010. Run, catch, block, speed, punt returns, kick returns, intelligence, durability….the guy does it all very, very well. He is going to be a complete stud.
He will probably be Buffalo’s starting RB by week six.

Change his perception or risk losing clients?
You do realize that most of his holdouts have been LESS than a week. In 2008, he had two clients with Dallas, Jones and Choice and both were in camp within 3 days but both were considered holdouts. He didn’t change anything. Crabtree was an aberration and not the norm. Oh and for all this “risk losing clients” bull, he had 8 clients in the draft, 6 before the 4th round. He had 2 in the first 5 picks and 3 in the first round (Only Tom Condon, with 5 had more first round choices and TC only had those 5 in the entire draft). Didn’t lose ANYTHING over Crabtree, just like he hasn’t lost any veterans over any veteran holdout that he’s had. Stop drinking the anti-Parker Kool-Aid. If he was going to lose clients, it would have happened years ago.

All the Bills haters move along, nothing to see here. 3 years from now when we are leading the AFC, don’t even dare hopping back on the Bandwagon. We don’t need you. We like our team it isn’t moving away.
CJ will rock it, just watch.
Those that say “worst Team in the League”, we won’t even be worst in our division. 6-10, Haters, 6-10.
Worst team in the league-stop it- do some research!
    24th at worst!
    You gotta start somewhere.
Going haters, now move along. Don’t pay annnnny attention to us.

    The Pats* are cheaters.
    The Fins are punks.
    The Jests are loudmouths.
The BILLS are quietly building a team of high character, hard nose players. Why would anyone outside of the AFC East be rooting against them? Wait and see. The BILLS will surprise the entire NFL this season.

For real. Remember a couple years back, when the Bills beat the Texans, and their players were saying they can’t believe they lost to a team like the Bills? When exactly did they earn that right? The texans have been bottom dwellers their entire existence, they only thing they have going for them is potential, and you can ask Parcells how much that means.

Dream on, Buckwheat. I care about my niece. Does that mean I have to be a woman to care about her?
I believe in the truth and when people try to distort the truth, out of simple HATRED, I have to wonder what their motivation is. Let’s not forget that Florio made a big deal about who was holding out the longest and hit missed that mark and Rosenthal made a big deal about how 17 of his 18 first round picks were holdouts (with only one, Crabtree, really holding out for a SIGNIFICANT time).

Bills fans are the best in the NFL. All you haters need to understand that in Buffalo, we are building. This season, i do only expect 5-7 wins. But next season, after our guys get some experience, and we get a good QB under center… 10 +… wait and see haters.

Stop saying free marshawn. He is very talented but with a lot of off the field issues. He can’t even have an interview without having a helmet in backwards talking ghetto. I love the way he plays but will hold zero trade value and buffalo will hold on to him thru his contract till he can probe something than an alternate in the probowl

This signing will not stop Goodell in 2011 from announcing “Welcome everyone to the 2011 NFL Draft. The Buffalo Bills are now on the clock…”
    Pre-order those Andrew Luck jersey’s, now…
Seriously, though, I hope the Bills get it turned around. Sounds like a real loyal base of football fans and a good football city.
Hopeully it doesn’t take as long as my formally beloved Pittsburgh Pirates. After year 12 of the never-ending rebuilding project, I had to jump ship.
