1)What does preseason have to do with my statement that any player is replaceable…..you spewing non-relevant facts is NOT arguing a point. It’s because if they didn’t do it, they wouldn’t get half the crowd or get a third of the money if they let fans go to whatever games they want during the preseason. Preseason ratings are down significantly from the regular season because fans aren’t buying into hype.

They get others to build their stadiums and when “they” pay, it’s usually though a PSL, which means that others are paying for the stadium and while the team gets the juicy dates and can hold non-football related events (and don’t have to share the revenue with the players and the owners), it’s the city that built the stadium that ends up having to maintain it and foot the bills and they usually don’t get much from the team. You’re totally ignorant of the “risks” and if you think that they risk anything, you’re a fool.

Also, disability refers to compensating someone for NOT being able to complete their job activities becasue of the injury. If an NFL player is injured on the job, so be it. Yes, he should receive SOME compensation. But, given the average length of a career, he shouldn’t be paid for 20 years. One last thing, genius, LTD polices HAVE pre-existing condition exclusionary periods BUT there are insurance companies out there that will deny coverage for any number of reasons (This is also used against other people as well) and it doesn’t matter how long their “exclusionary” period is and in some cases, the “disability” that lets them deny them coverage has nothing to do with the actual disability (For example, battered women come pre-packaged as a pre-existing condition and they’ve used that as an excuse to deny coverage).

His deal for Cowboys Stadium was financed by the city of Arlington, the NFL and FANS and he made $200+ mil to boot on his PSL and the previous stadium was built 18 years before he even bought the team. He and the other owners suckle from a $3 bil TV teat that is attractive because of the PLAYERS and NOT the owners. He gets revenue from licensing because of the PLAYERS and NOT the owners. He gets ticket revenue because of the PLAYERS and not the owners. You don’t think that the players don’t meaning anything? Ask every season ticket owner who is forced to pay for exhibition games that feature guys who will be bagging groceries at the end of the preseason whether they’d bitch as much if they were watching the REAL players for 4 quarters and I think that you’d that they would because they feel cheated about paying for less than NFL talent NOW. Face it, preseason games feature ALL the NFL TEAMS but the stands are usually empty by the middle of the third quarter when the grocery baggers are playing. 2) I am aware of how the NFL pension plan works moron……but, one could say that it is ridiculous anyway that an individual making $1M a year or more should get a % of that as a pension. Bottom line, they shouldn’t, These arent electricians we are talking about….and rock stars do not have union or a pension. There is a thing called SAVING your money. More fishes and loaves talk. Buckwheat, they are DAMAGED GOODS and they can’t get many of the things that you can, like long term disability insurance because they go in with a pre-existing condition.
Now, as for the $350k, first, that’s in 2012 but that’s SIGNIFICANTLY less than the maximum lifetime benefits that most people get with their health insurance or did you not know that? Don’t say that it isn’t because I’ve never had a policy that’s been less than $4 million. In Hennings’ case, it was $225,000 and his fusion surgery and rehab ate that up.
Boobarella, they have to be VESTED into a pension plan and their retirement pay depends on how long they play and it doesn’t kick in after they retire from the game but 55 and the payments get bigger like they do with Social Security if they hold off taking retirement right away. There IS an early retirement age BUT it’s only available to those whose careers started before 1993. A player that takes early retirement at age 45, for example, only gets 45% of his normal retirement AND his retirement package also depends on when he played. For example, if you played from 1983 to 1986 and took your retirement at age 45, you’d get $461.04 a month or $5532.48 a year while if you played from 1992-1995, you’d get $497.20 or $5966.40. Does this seem like the fishes and the loaves to you?
The average career is 3 1/2 years, which means that most don’t get the fishes and loaves because it takes 4 years of CREDITED service to be vested. Oh gee, you continue to look like an ignorant stooge.
In 2006, Todd Christensen points out that most of you F&L crowd seem to think that their pension is as good as MLB. A 10-year MLB player who takes his pension at age 62, would get $175,000 while that same person would get $32,000 for playing in the NFL.
Have you even read the CBA, dipshit? Did you know that while they’re paying for the retirees so they won’t lose the PR wars, they are NOT paying for any benefits for active players this year? No pension, no 401k contributions and they’ve saved more than $10 million per team AND they could lower ticket prices for all the money that they’ve saved by not bidding up salaries and not paying for benefits BUT THEY DIDN’T.

Ok, here we go. Another ignorant fool ranting on about how the players have got it made but he won’t prove that he has no idea about how much F&L that the players get because he’s either too stupid or too ignorant.
FYI, you retard, NFL players can get $325,000 for 2010 and 2011 and $350,000 for 2012. If you think that’s going to go a long ways for guys that have been severely injured, you’re frigging stupid.
The owners have worked hard to get workman’s comp laws in their states to deny coverage or cap coverage. Chad Hennings, when he retired, got $225,000 but that ran out quickly and he sued to try to get WC and the lovely, caring and cuddly, wuddly, Jerry Jones fought him tooth and nail for 7 years until Texas’ 10th Court of Appeals finally gave him benefits (BTW, Jerry loves to go after former Cowboys, even going so far to fight a Cowboy that played before he bought the team over the fact that he needed money for artificial hip replacement).
Oh and because this is an uncapped year, the teams are saving about $10+ mil each in benefits that they won’t be paying for the players this year — HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
