Colts' John Gill arrested

We often find that NFL player arrests decline during training camp, as players simply don’t have time to get into off-field trouble.

But the Colts had a day off today, and defensive tackle John Gill was arrested for public intoxication.

WTHR reports that Gill was found by police on the side of a road in Indianapolis, passed out, barefoot and unable to stand on his own.

Police say Gill was wearing disheveled and soiled clothing when they found him in a ditch, officers could smell a strong odor of alcohol and his speech was slurred.

Colts spokesman Craig Kelley told the station, “We are aware there is an incident. We do not have details and will have no comment.”

Gill played in two games for the Colts in 2009, his first NFL season.

Good for him….If a grown man wants to get drunk and take a ditch nap, more power to him.

Don’t judge. If you had to spend entire days looking at Manning’s fivehead, you’d need a release too.

Sucks for him he’s not any good. Or else he could take advantage of NFL hypocrisy and remain employed.

If the guy goes out and gets hammered on a one day break then he obviously he has a problem and should seek help…

Can’t complain too much if he wasn’t driving unless he drive far enough to realize he shouldn’t be driving, hopped out of his car and took a power nap.
Kudos to him if his designated driver bailed and he decided to sleep it off.

At least Gill passed out after getting drunk. A certain QB in Shittsburgh rapes women after getting drunk.

  17. The Great Potato Conspiracy says: Aug 8, 2010 6:56 PM

His last name is “Gill”, so he drank like a fish.
    (the audience groans)

  18. hounds64 says: Aug 8, 2010 6:56 PM

    @steelers rules
Perhaps your QB dumped him in the ditch after he was done with him?
Are you questioning a rapist getting a lesser punishment than a stupid drunk?

  19. Richm2256 says: Aug 8, 2010 9:50 PM

And yet, drunk as he was, no 20 year old co-eds accused him of sexual assault.
