Falcons fans have often wondered aloud what their offense would look like if wide receiver Michael Jenkins was no longer in the starting lineup. They might just get their wish.
Zach Klein of WSB in Atlanta reports that Jenkins will miss 4-6 weeks with a shoulder injury. If the report proves correct, that would put Jenkins’ status for Week One against the Steelers up in the air.
Harry Douglas, coming off ACL surgery, figures to replace Jenkins in the starting lineup in the meantime. Douglas is a more explosive receiver and we wouldn’t be shocked to see him take hold of Jenkins’ starting job for good, despite Jenkins’ blocking ability.
UPDATE: The Falcons were nice enough to confirm the injury, and even the timeline of the injury. Thomas Dimitroff is in the Belichick tree, right?
