Cell phone alarm triggers four-figure fine for Browns player

Last year, Browns coach Eric Mangini’s habit of fining players became a major point of contention in Cleveland, possibly since it gave folks who were resisting change something tangible about which to complain.

This year, the fining continues. Cornerback Joe Haden discloses on his Twitter page that a teammate received a sizable fine for what some would call a minor infraction.

These fines ain’t no joke!” Haden said. “Somebody[‘s] phone alarm went off in the meeting and all Coach Mangini said was, [‘That will be] $1760!’”

It remains to be seen whether Haden will be posting a tweet regarding the fine that’s imposed on him for talking about the fine that was imposed on his teammate.
