At first I applauded Saban for this, but the more I read, the more wrong I think he is. Posters are right… it’s the AGENTS, not the SCOUTS, that need to be banned. Keeping boosters out isn’t a bad secondary step as someone mentioned also. Then again, be careful with that one. They’re the ones paying his outrageous salary.

I think Saban is trying deflect the dirt off his program toward anything else hoping, hoping it will stick, just to protect his Championship. I hope the NCAA investigates the hell out of him and ends up taking their Championship away from them. LET THE BOISE STATE BASHING BEGIN.

To stop all of this nonsense, all the NFL has to do is not invite any Alabama players to the combine.
That will in itself force all new recruits to other SEC teams, and Alabama will dump Saban faster than he left the Dolphins.

Alabama players will be drafted high regardless of if scouts can watch them in summer camp or not. If a kid is dumb enough to believe a rival coach that tells him he can’t get drafted from Alabama because they’ve banned NFL scouts, I don’t think that kid could learn the playbook anyway.
For the metaphor of high schools banning college coaches to work, there would have to be fear that the high schools could be put on probation if the college coaches do something wrong. Absent that, the analogy is useless. The NFL doesn’t mind peeing in the NCAA pool because it doesn’t have to swim there.

Don’t understand banning NFL scouts trying to find NFL caliber players within his program. Is he banning agents & boosters? They are the ones trying to “bend” the rules and getting programs into trouble.

Saban is a total snake. Who could believe that with a nickname like “The Nicktator”, he isn’t familiar with the seedy world of amateur football player compensation. And to then turn around and shut out the NFL guys from doing their job? I never liked him and I never will.
